Great Value. Great scope for the $
I love this scope, illumination is bright, SFP not an issue for me because I just keep it on 12x. The compact size complements a tactical rifle well. For the price you cannot beat this scope.

Great bang for the buck
I've had several UTG/Leapers scopes over the years and while not top of the line, they have all served me well. In this case I went with the compact figuring it would be the ideal size for my new Notos PCP, I was right. To begin with, the included mounts are the perfect height for mounting this scope (with caps) on a flat upper. The eye relief is perfect with the rings straddling the loading port on the Notos.Turret clicks are nice and audible but the adjustment feels a bit mushy. That said, it zeroed easily and has not required further adjustment since. Magnification, ocular adjustment, and parallax (side focus) were very stiff out of the box but have loosened up nicely with use.I chose this scope over the comparable Bug Buster, expecting a brighter image due to the larger objective. The image is bright and clarity is as expected in this price range.

Extremely accurate
My wife and I live on a couple of acres in a small subdivision in SW Florida. Late afternoons we enjoy watching the song birds come to our bird feeder, as well as the doves, squirrels, and rabbits who were attracted to the spillage. Then, out of nowhere one day we became inundated with a huge flock of starlings. Starlings are bullies and slobs and will simply trash the feed, they only like the heart of the melon so to speak. This was our dilemma.Solution: The Gamo 6110017154 Varmint Air Rifle .177 Cal break barrel air rifle. Though I am no longer a hunter, I do have latent skills from my days as a Marine combat veteran. I ordered the rifle but was not really satisfied with the scope that came with it.I ordered the UTG 3-12X44 30mm Compact Scope, AO, 36-color Mil-dot, Rings and the UTG Leapers MNT-PMTOWL-A Inc, and the Dovetail to Picatinn Adaptor Mount, Black, for mounting the scope, to fit on the Gamo rifle. What a combination. My hit rate went straight up and after dropping 30+ starlings they would immediately fly off the moment they saw me. Then one day as these birds were rousting for the evening I took out my final bird and the word went out. I haven't seen a starling since and that's been over a month ago. This UTG 3-12X44 30mm Compact Scope, AO, 36-color Mil-dot is extremely accurate and I have had no problem at all with the scope on the Gamo Varmint break barrel as it handles the double recoil extremely well. I haven't even had to re-sight the scope. I totally recommend this scope on a break barrel air rifle. Now, in the late afternoons my wife and I are able to sit outside and watch JUST the song birds. Thank you UTG.UPDATE : What has really woken up this UTG scope is the addition of the UTG Add-on Index Wheel for Side Wheel AO Scope, 60mm. What a difference in that the knob for your range adjustment on the scope is very hard to turn. By adding this wheel it has made adjustments for distance a breeze. I highly recommend this addition. Though the starlings hardly ever come by anymore we still have the occasional new ones in the area that don't recognize me right away. The wheel has made adjusting the scope so easy that I am now up to 43 KIA's, most of them from a distance up in the trees. There would be more but very few starlings stop by any more.UPDATE 2: Over time the blackbirds do come and go. I've had this scope now for 4 years this month (October 2023) and it has functioned perfectly, still running on my 1st sighting in. I'm buying another one shortly for my AK.By the way, I'm now up to 368 blackbirds. Though they rarely come by anymore, in the spring the babies don't recognize me, but they are fast learners.

Early review: Great on an Air Rifle, but Needs Different Mount
I bought this scope to use with a Gamo Whisper Fusion Mach-1 air rifle. I like the fact that this scope offers exposed turrets (they can be twisted by hand without having to remove a cap), and it has an LED-illuminated mil-dot reticle. While there is a color index table that you can use to find the color you like, I prefer sticking to plain, low intensity red when I'm shooting at night.Quick note: the product images show the sun visor of the scope, but not the front flip cover. It comes with the flip cover already attached. If you remove it, then you can see/use the sun visor. The rear flip cover is also attached, and flips "up." I found this to be inconvenient because the cover obstructed my ability to press the "EZ Tap" buttons for the LED. Removing the flip cover and then realigning it so that it opens to the right was an easy fix.The exposed turrets work as expected and have locking rings: rings at the base of each turret that screw tight to lock the turret in place. I've seen a difference in behavior when these rings are screwed tight: the zero point is different when they are tight. That's fine and even good, but if you make a change to the zero point then remember to retighten the locking rings afterwards The scope includes a "focus" knob for parallax, and has a minimum setting of 10 yards.I've read several reviews that say this scope loses its zero after 500+ shots. My hope is that a .177 air rifle doesn't impart the same shock as an 5.56/.223 (it doesn't). So far, this scope has been amazing for 100+ shots: at short range, I can consistently put a 5-round group under a nickel which is good enough for me.Now, one thing that needs to be said: while this scope is great on an air rifle, it isn't being marketed for that purpose. The rings that are provided are for 15mm Picatinny/Weaver rails, not the 11mm grooves on an air rifle. The rings simply cannot be tightened down enough to use on an air rifle. That leaves you at the mercy of the mount that is provided with the rifle, or else buying a separate mount. For my specific rifle/scope combination, the UTG 1PC Medium Profile Airgun Mount with Stop Pin, 30mm (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001WJ4Y28) is both essential and perfect. This scope has been amazing so far for my purposes of recreational shooting and varmint control with an air rifle. My hope is that the reduced shock of an air rifle will allow the scope to deliver consistent and reliable accuracy.
