The perfect sprinkler
Perfect sturdy sprinkler. Easy to adjust Heavy enough not to slide around with high water water pressure. The size is perfect for small or large areas. Using it to move from one area to another is done with ease. Even for an old woman like me. It works very well and is worth the price.

Wow just wow - classic case of "you get what you pay for"
I was so anxious to try this thing out when it arrived today and while normally I like to wait a while before I leave a review, I could not resist doing it now after just a short trial run.I want to preface this by saying I am not a huge lawn maintenance guy and until last year have never owned a lawn sprinkler and pretty much cut my lawn only when it needed it and did not fertilize or care for weeds. I knew virtually nothing about and had no passion for lawn care. However, I do like golf and decided to dedicate 2500 sq ft of my two acre lot to use for chipping practice. So I set out last summer to make it a pristine area with zero weeds and fairway type grass which I maintain with a rotary reel type push mower. This required be to do some fertilizing and over-seeding - both of which benefit from having a good sprinkler.I did not think it was necessary to spend a lot of money to get a decent sprinkler....but I was wrong. The first sprinkler I purchased cost me about $9 and it was a piece of junk. In only a few weeks it started to hang up and leak and just not do a good job - plus it was too light and would lean one way or the other unless I weighed it down. So I decided to drop the dime and get a good one and the Rocky Mountain Goods Metal Oscillating Lawn Sprinkler is everything I wanted...and more.It is a nice, relatively heavy, well made metal sprinkler with some real nice features. It has sliders to set the limits in each direction which is real nice. It has a flow control so you can, well...control the flow. It even has six (three on each side) outlets you can shut off to narrow the width of the spray. That along with the flow control makes it real easy to place it and adjust to target a specific area and not waste water in places that do not need it. The thing I like the best though is the weight of this sprinkler. It is very solid and lays completely flat when you place it where you want.In the end it is one of those things you buy where you definitely get what you pay for. If you are looking for a top of the line lawn sprinkler, look no further. Yeah it's not cheap and there might be some others that are in the middle of the price range, but if you just want to get a good one from the start and not waste your time and money...I cannot recommend this one enough. Of course I have not used it very long so time will tell if it holds up well and I will update this review if something changes. Still though, I know enough about mechanical things to say this is one well made piece of hardware, and I am very confident it will last a long time and can recommend it without hesitation.

For when you have had enough of cheap plastic garbage.
If you have bought sprinklers made 100% from plastic and watched them malfunction within the first season of use, this is what you want. It would be better if it had no plastic parts at all in its construction, but it is far sturdier than any of the stuff you see at the big box stores. Buy this when you have had enough of cheap toys. The features built into this sprinkler are quite useful.

Works Great
The sprinkling range is very large if you have good water pressure. I use two at the same time and it waters my very large front yard.

Wife says it's "a joy" to use
My wife was watering our lawn a lot this spring and broke several of the best sprinkler we could get at our big-box hardware store. I got tired of buying those, so went for he most obscenely metal sprinkler I could find. She loves it and it survived the season. She really likes the various adjustments you can make to both the oscillation pattern and the width of the stream itself. I'm just happy to pay once for something of quality instead of repeatedly breaking cheaper items.

No customer service.
I do like this sprinkler. Actually was my favorite oscillating sprinkler. Like it having metal gears instead of plastic. Also it having a lifetime warranty sold me. So.... when it lost one of the jet nozzles this spring I wasn't overly concerned, then I tried to get ahold of rocky mountain goods. What a joke. I left an email then I was told they prefer to communicate by text so I texted. Forgot all about it. Then 3 weeks later they responded to my textWas lime fantastic, they asked for proof of purchase and what had happen I sent all that in and that was the end of that. Never heard back from them again. This was 6 months ago. Have sent more emails and text messages but nada. So in closing the sprinkler is good until it isn't and what good is a lifetime warranty if they won't deal with the customer.

GIVING THIS PRODUCT 10 OUT OF 10
Have purchased maybe 4 cheap plastic sprinklers in the past 7 years. None of them held up for more than a couple years. Two actually broke, no reason except material fatigue. Decided to invest in a top-quality device. Screwed right onto my hose with ease, the spray setting is extremely simple to use especially for the seniors. Even though it is very heavy duty, all metal, it is relatively light weight, easy to move around the lawn. I use it every evening at sundown, now I look forward to watering my lawn. Excellent product.

Worth the Price
I got this to replace a Melnor sprinkler of the same functional type. The plastic Melnor base broke early and I put it back together. Later the range-of-oscillation adjustment (plastic paddles) broke. Then it didn't oscillate anymore. Don't get one of those for use longer than a season or two. This Rocky Mountain on the other hand is nicely made. It oscillates at about half the speed of the Melnor but I don't this matters. The width adjustments are push-buttons which so far work easily. The only thing I would like to see is a greater range of flow control. The one provided doesn't seem to make a lot of difference. But adjusting the water flow at the faucet lower than what the sprinkler provides doesn't stop the oscillation.I don't know about the coverage claims. I'm usually turning it down even on my large yard since I have to move it around anyway due to grass shape. When available, I prefer to spend more on a good product like this one rather than get a cheap one that doesn't last.
