Sound is pretty good soft and loud bass. The package I received was damaged. Amazon must improve the packaging.

JBL 1500 watts is best option in 3k-4k range for both Sedan and hatchback cars, better than Pioneer
I have been researching on woofers before buying this, had been using Pioneer champion series DVC before this. I was confused which subwoofer to buy for my sedan car. after so much research I had 2 options Pioneer to buy again or JBL SVC. I read so many blogs, saw many youtube videos and finally came to a conclusion that in my budget (max 3.5K) JBL 1500 watts is the best option and when I got fixed in my car it was the really the best.I you guys want to have a good quality, low frequency BASS and a very subtle smooth BASS which do not annoy anyone else sitting in your car, Blindly go for JBL. Believe me I had used local made woofers, JBL 1150 watts, JBL 1200 watts, Pioneer DVC champion series and now this. I would highly recommend JBL any series, and if you are bass freak then 1500watts is the best. Please ensure that you connect it to a good quality high RMS amplifier and a good quality redwood Woofer box. BOX and AMP are equally important guys. good luck.
