Can this be used in under a normal vanity in a house?

Yes. That's exactly where I used it due to space constraints. Couldn't fit a normal P- trap. Works great.

Will this equalize grey tank pressure like a vent? Building campervan and can’t easily vent tank outside.

All this is a trap for your shower or sink, not a vent. It is like P trap under your sink or shower to keep odors coming back up sink. I used one under my shower where I have no room for a P-trap.

Yes, it a check valve, there is a soft tube inside that goes flat and stops on back flow.
