High quality professional grade tape
Generally I use gaffer tape for things like protecting lipo's that bottom mount, or taping extension cords to floors while doing work in a heavily trafficked commercial setting. But based on the manufacturer's claims I decided to branch out on its uses. I have been having a real problem with some name brand blue tape causing some costly damage to walls. Orange core blue tape won't hold up plastic sheet but won't damage the wall. So I decided to use a combination of this gaffer tape and orange core blue tape. I used the gaffer tape sparingly to do the holding work and then used the blue tape to seal it all off. To my surprise after a week on the wall the gaffer tape was removed without any damage. It might look like a kind of duct tape but it is far superior. I've used alot of different types of tape over the years and for me this is a great choice for gaffer tape. It has held up very well on the batteries as well. The tape shows some signs of abrasions but is still in good shape, unlike some of the thinner less expensive gaffer tape. The tape is thick and will unroll without ripping or shearing off even when taping down a hundred feet of cord.

Not cloth based tape, it's has a "papery feel" but still good quality
Was disappointed that this product is paper based and not cloth like other good gaffer tape. It has a very fine fabric thread running thought tape does not easily tear with your fingers and this will not work for my own use.UPDATE: 5/1/2015The seller contacted me and gave me a refund and offered to send me free of charge a new cloth gaffer tape, which I am looking forward to testing and reviewing. Customer service is fantastic and the company took time to write to me and find out why I initially was not happy with product. I have been using the original roll and even though it requires a bit more effort with your fingers, the adhesive is holding well and I could use it without any issue. Suggestion perhaps to seller is to specify of the "papery" feel and that is not made out of cloth that customer knows what they is getting. I am upgrading my 1 start to a full 5 because the product is holding up under extreme heat conditions and the adhesive has not turned gooey and seems to be strong holding. If you have scissors to help you cut the tape at hand, you should not experience and quality issues. Also noteworthy to mention that their customer service is amazing and more companies should model after them, thanks Jeremy.

PLEASANTLY SURPRISED!
I found this item while looking for a strong tape to secure some cables to a high traffic floor area in my home. I didnt want duct tape because it is so hard to remove and doesn't come up cleanly when you do so.I bought this item after reading that it was strong like duct tape but didn't have the previously mentioned issues. I figured it probably wasn't going to be as strong, but decided to give it a try.I WAS WRONG! This stuff is just as strong as duct tape and securely holds cables to a hard surface like flooring. And the best part is that it can easily be removed without that sticky duct tape residue all over the floor! I was even able to pull a section of it up in order to adjust its position on the floor, with no problems of less adhesion. It may not be quite as strong as duct tape in all applications, but I'm glad I found this stuff and will buy it again when I need a strong tape that I can remove later with no worries of marks on the floor and a sticky mess!

Not very sticky
I guess for gaffing it may work fine, hold wires down and easy to remove? But if using as duct tape not great.

Poor quality Gaffers tape
Just received this, along with 2 other brands of Gaffers Tape. I have used Gaff tape for decades and know the good stuff when I see it, feel it, and use it. This tape is not very good next to the standard by which I've been used to. When you rip this tape, it will rip fairly straight some times and not at all other times, When trying to make smaller pieces out of a large one, it's all over the place. Plus it sticks a little too much on flat surfaces and most importantly, it shows the white sticky backing through on the top of the black tape along the edges of the rip. See the photo for a comparison of the Zenpro Gaff tape (on the left) to the Gaffers Choice tape (the other 3) You can see it doesn't always rip straight, and it shows the white backing through in places.Of course, it's possible I got an old roll, but it doesn't look or feel that way. As always YMMV, but for me, I'll pass. The ZenPro Gaff tape also on Amazon, is a better tape, though it has sort of a semi sparkly look to the finish, but not over the top. 3M Scotch is one of the best, but it's outrageously priced.UPDATE 3/24/15:I have now ordered and received the ProTapes Pro Gaff tape from Amazon. To me, this is the quality Gaff tape that I was looking for, with the ZenPro coming in as an acceptable 2nd place.UPDATE 9/3/15:The owner of Gaffers Choice has been in contact with me over the last few months and he has diligently been trying to make improvements with this tape. Without asking, he sent me a new version a few months ago to try out that had a different feel from the first tape. I very much appreciate his help in trying to rectify the issues I had and I can tell he has every intention of making this a much better product. Though I still prefer the 2 choices I mentioned above, I'm very impressed with the kind of attention to constructive criticism the owner of Gaffers Choice is after and it appears he is still looking ahead for a better formula to continue to improve this product. Cheers to him!
