Product is Great
I gave it 5 stars because they're too many negative reviews on this very useful product. Yes some of them may be a pain in the ass to onroll but once you get it layed out the benefits are great. It keeps bird from eating seeds. It keeps grass seed moist as long as you water regularly. And straw will disintegrate so you don't have any mess to clean up.

quality of rolls inconsistent
It's a good product, although the rolls are inconsistent. One roll was great, while the other was stretched thin and tangled up. Now, it could have been something that I've done, yet I treated them the same. All in all it worked.

Landscaping burlap at its best
Using 3, 4’ bamboo canes, a 5’ section of landscaping burlap and some zip ties. These hanging strawberry baskets were put together in a single afternoon.Landscaping burlap doesn’t hold a bias well and is not woven very tight. Do not mistake it for the crafting burlap you find in a fabric store. It is perfect for making hanging planters and lots of other applications around the yard.

Terrible waste of time and money
Bad mistake to buy this product. Very thin layer of 'straw-like' material on clear plastic mesh, (almost) impossible to get off the roll. The product image shown in listing is not what is happening. Gave up after untangling a 10 ft section and threw away the whole pack.

Where do I begin
I almost never give a one-star. However, the netting that was reminiscent of fishing line is my biggest beef. First the matting and netting caught on my shoes. I then noticed the widely spaced thin netting was like fishing line or tooth floss. I bet that would wreak havoc and bodily injury on any animal or bird that get entangled. The "straw" was like long dry curly fake craft grass, totally not what I was hoping for. I'm going back to my rollout mulch and disposed of this troublesome stuff. Wow soo aggrivating.Besides all that, coverage was thin at best. I'm not risking people tripping or my feral kitties getting their innocent selves stuck in this stuff.

I like this product.
I notice quite a number of negative comment about this product, but I had no problem using it. You do need to be a bit careful when first unrolling it. I found it to be especially useful when reseeding a small hill on our reverse story and a half. I also used it when reseeding a flat spot in our yard, in that it's a reminder not to walk on or mow the reseeded area. The biodegradable posts are nice but not really needed. But if you do use them the yard needs to water in first and one needs to be careful hammering in the posts. I personally like to pick it up several weeks after the new seed is fully growing in well even though it is biodegradable. I simply roll it back up and put it in our lawn recycle bags. It easily rolls up once reseeded area is established if you're careful in pulling it up. Part of this is because our Westie will walk on it and does track some of the fibers in.

Not for covering new seeding
This product would be good for soil erosion but does not give enough covering for seeding a new lawn. Thickness and cohesion is not good.. Also not easy to start with a straight edge nor is it easy to cut a straight ending edge.
