Yamazaki TW-00 Gone Fishin' 5-Piece Placesetting,Silver

I was looking for new flatware to give my table a new look. I cameacross this set on Amazon and was immediately drawn to it. My sonliked it, so, I bought two five piece place settings. When I openedthe package, I found this to be a very high-end, finely crafted, andfunctional piece of art.The artists ingeniously crafted each piece so the design does notinterfere with the function. The knife is amazing, the tail is side-ways, and the serrated tip cuts better than any other dinner knife(not being a steak knife), that I have ever used.The spoons have a tiny nub for the eye, and the fins do not interferewith the handling or use of the piece. The forks have a small holefor the eye, and again, the fins do not interfere with usage. Thisflatware does not bend and is solid stainless steel. The weight issubstantial, but not too heavy, and the forks and spoons balance inmy hand. The forks pierce meats and vegetables alike, without chasingthe food around the plate and the spoons hold an adequate amount ofsoup or liquids for their size.I picked up more five piece place settings as well as the three pieceserving set and dessert spoons. Each and every piece is crafted tothe same high standard, the handles are the right length and the finsdo not interfere with usage. When you set the table, you can throwthe flatware down beside the plates, and the school of fish look neat.I'm glad I picked up my service for 10 before they got away. I haveone issue that I must mention, is that I feel that the dessert spoonshould have a longer handle on them. In other words a dessert/iced teaspoon would be very useful, perhaps Yamazaki will read my review andtake my suggestion.This is a very finely crafted piece of art, with a sense of fun. Thisset of flatware cleans up easily in the dishwasher and maintains itshigh-polished shine.

This is a significant step up in price and quality from the other fish flatware. Heavyweight, well made, and nice sized. A great novel set of serving pieces.I used these at a condo we rented in Maui. I thought how cute, I will get some. When I saw how much they cost, I decided to try a competitor's version first. The competition had VERY large pieces. Too large for even my big mouth. The teaspoon was almost tablespoon-like. So I returned them and decided to bite the bullet and go for the real deal.The set I received was just like the ones I used at the condo. They are very heavy (not cumbersome, just a nice solid feel in your hand). They are polished all over and not matte as one potential buyer asked. They are cute too. They have a very small eye on the spoon which combined with the handle gives them a fish look. the knife is unique in that it will stand on its edge, due to the curve of the tail, thus minimizing buttering your counter or tablecloth!I am completely glad I spent the extra on these. I have had them for about ten years and have had no issues whatsoever. This is the case of buying it once and you are good to go for a long time.Note: we do not have a dishwasher, other than two Golden Retrievers, whole to help. So, I can't imagine any issue with a dishwasher but I can't comment on it. Update: Used in the dishwasher and no issues.Cheers!

I absolutely adore these fish themed silverware. Unfortunately, I waited too late to purchase them when they were easily available and better pricing. Still….so glad I purchased them! They make me smile every time I open the silverware drawer, and I think they will make you smile too 😇

Best silverware I have ever used. I had my doubts due to the fish style, yet these were elegant and functional. Each piece were weighted just enough to feel comfortable in the diners hand. The only flaws, if they could be considered flaws were: the knife had a hole where the fish eye was supposed to be-- this can be a little tricky to clean if one is eating a soft substance, and the spoon has fish lips-- this is s little sharp, just make sure to dine slowly. Still s great set.

This is the best and cutest silverware ever! If you love fish, if you live in a fishing town, or if you just like a good conversation piece, this is the silverware for you! Beware the knock-off version. The genuine Yaazaki is the real thing, perfectly weighted in your hand and innovative alignment of the knives make this so exceptional (study the product photo - the knife should be turned up, using the tail as a rest (it actually won't lay as they have it pictured)). People love this silverware, even men remark on how cute it is. Seriously, when do you hear men talking about the silverware?! It is delightful and such good quality; I ordered a set of 6 and came back and have added 2 more so I have a set of 8. It's nice that you can get one setting at a time and build up. They are a lovely investment. I also have the serving pieces and butter knives. Been running them through the dishwasher with no staining or wear on the finish. You won't be disappointed.

Beautiful utensils, almost too nice to use. Bought these because a friend has these and we loved the design. They are pricey but the memories that come with seeing these in our drawer and using them is priceless.

Great quality! Price expensive, only got 1 matched set , as you can buy the whole thing different companies but more settings for the cost of 1. But definitely the better quality
