We took down the microwave from above our oven as I hate how condensation forms on the bottom of it and can drip into food cooking below and wanted to replace it with a range hood. It was important to us that the range hood is completed in the USA so that took a lot of other manufacturers out of the picture right away.Once we found this company and read the reviews we knew that this range hood sounded like a quality item and it is. This hood is sturdy and made of premium commercial grade non-magnetic stainless steel and you can tell. There are no plastic fan parts like in other range hoods either. It went up pretty easily with a bit of help. The company was very helpful with any questions I had so do not hesitate to ask for help from them if you need some.This is a powerful range hood that does the job and looks like the quality it is. No, it is not whisper quiet but quiet enough to use and still have a conversation. The smoke alarms don't go off anymore when I sear meat and the smells are gone as well. The lights are bright enough that you can actually turn them on and see what you are doing.Everyone who comes into our house has noticed this hood as it just looks good. We are very happy with our purchase. Yes, it is a bit more expensive than other range hoods but then you get what you pay for.

Pros:- powerful- comparatively quiet as for this capacity- clean look- good tech design- made from 1 mm thick steel- fast deliveryCons:- the range hood arrived dirty and scratched (the shipping box is OK)- poor quality control- cheap and weak hanging hardware- low-quality light bulbs- the manual printed on someone's cheap home printer- shady seller- sluggish support, which is trying to turn the seller's fault into your personal hassleThe first thing I found in the package was the notice from the seller, which says: - "Every unit is 100% inspected at our facility in California, USA. In order to do so, we must open and reseal each box. We ask that you immediately inspect your product and report any damages or missing parts within 3 days of receiving".So I proceeded with my inspection, which showed the following things:- the protective film (which is typical for stainless steel products) was removed entirely from the range hood body during the QC in California, and then the hood was handled by dirty hands, which left dark oily spots on it as well as on the packaging foam- then the hood was repackaged WITHOUT cleaning and without protective film- during the shipping process, the dirt left on the hood was rubbed by packaging materials into the stainless steel body- the baffle filters came covered with protective film, so there were no issues as a result- one of the light sockets was missing one screw and did not stay in place (later, I found the missing screw inside the hood and tried to put it in place, but it turned out that both screw holes had broken thread, so the screws can't be tightened and hold the light socket firmly)- some screws holes on the blower housing also have broken threadI contacted the seller immediately and described all the issues and got the following responses:- regarding scratches - "As for the scratches, these are normal manufacturing minor imperfections. Our units are handmade brushed stainless steel. There will be minor imperfections, this is normal." How sad that it was not mentioned in the product description.- regarding dark spots - "using stainless steel cleaner rubbing the cleaner with the grain of the metal will remove those stains."- regarding the missing screw - "Those screws can be found at your local Home Depot / Lowes Store."- regarding the broken threads - "you need a small nut or a little bigger screw to over thread the existing hole."So, for $600, you will get a Lego for adults and a fantastic opportunity to visit a DIY store nearby multiple times, trying to find appropriate hardware and cleaning supplies.Conclusion: it is a decent Chinese product ruined by American "quality control". I wish I could order it directly from the manufacturer.

very loud for an otherwise good quality hood

We're in the process of finishing up a kitchen renovation and that made it an ideal time to replace the hood vent since our old Amana was about to give up the ghost after 25 plus years of service. Hope this lasts at least as long. We like the looks and have no doubt it will give excellent performance.

We replaced an over range microwave with "exhaust fan" with this Range Hood. It does a superior job compared to what we had been using. Our only complaint is even though the lighting (2 lights) are positioned in the front, they are more spot lights than overall lighting for the range top. We have attached to the back frame a plug in under the counter light strip that fixes the lighting issue. Easy fix for not a lot of money. But, the manufacture needs to figure out a better design for the lighting. Overall, we are very happy with the quality and features of this range hood. We recommend it, but also share our experience that the lighting is lacking.

Works great

The noise level on all three settings is minimum of 80 decibels. Because of this I cannot use it. I reached out via customer service and I've not even heard a peep back from them. Be careful when you rely on Consumer Reports for fair accurate reviews.

Our hood both side came off almost one year now. Who can i context to fix it? Otherwise I like this product.
