Temperature Monitoring Kit with 3 Data Loggers by LogTag (See Item VAC-TRED30-KIT-2 for VFC Vaccine Monitoring kit)

These are remarkably high tech for the price. I live with people who can never agree on the comfort levels in our home so I put these in all the disputed locations to monitor the actual temp and I put one in the attic to monitor my efforts to reduce solar loading up there. Once setup, you just pop the card into the reader and the file downloads automatically and opens it in Excel for you to look at. These things are very useful for any reason you need to monitor the temp of something or its environment.

1 year later and I try to load temperature data.. Log tag failed to load.. Wow, I wasted no only my money, but a year. A YEAR WASTED!!Update:Pealed front lable off, removed screws. Found moisture in unit; this is IP6 rated? Dryed board, cleaned corrosion. No improvement. Tester showed no contact to center pin. Scratched surfaces and soldered pin to board. Tried again, new error message. Measured battery voltage. 2.8 volts. Connected 3.3 volt power supply to battery pins and the lights flashed! Plugged in unit while pushing against connection side. Got it! The computer filled up with graph data. Well, not a total loss. I was able to retrieve 8 out of 12 months of data. I don't know if it was moisture or the battery that caused it to stop logging, perhaps even corrosion between the thermister pins..So anyway, hope that helps someone.

I bought these from a different supplier than Amazon back in 2014. I used them only briefly because I was worried that I would use up the battery. In October 2016 I tried using one of them again and it worked. But now the battery is dead. Warning, these batteries are non replaceable. So you can only use them until the battery dies. I've read online you can peal off the cover and open them up, and with a soldering iron you can replace the battery. They make other models that can replace the battery. Other than the lack of replaceable battery they worked fine. Software worked ok and docking station for them worked no problem. If you want something that you can keep using for years to come buy something different from LogTag.
