Anti-Animal Proof and Gem of a heater
If I could give this product 10 stars I would! Like the spring loaded control mechanism which stays shut, under spring pressure, so my very curious dog doesn't eat the controls! This heater is a gem. Works better than expected and that's saying something because I had high expectations on the heater for my dog house. I pair this heater with a Govee remote read thermometer that I set to send me an alert if Temp reaches the low threshold. The Low, Medium and High settings on the heater work great and thus far I've only had to operate on L and M to keep comfortable temps for my dog. One last thing, it's getting powered via smart plug so I can turn off power remotely if needed.***December 2024 Update, Heater still running great! 39 degrees outside this morning but 60 degrees inside heated doghouse which isn't insulated that well (has plastic "flaps" for a door) but this heater keeps my thin-furred dog toasty.

BUY IT NOW!!
I have 2 small 15-20lb dogs that unfortunately must stay in their outdoor kennel during my long hours at work. Now that the cold Tennessee chill is starting to make it's way through I started searching for ways to keep them comfy while I work overnight. This heater was actually $30 cheaper than the ones with fast prime delivery but came to my door just as fast. Maybe even quicker so I was very impressed. Unit seems very sturdy and well made. I bolted it up and wrapped their doghouse in a used comforter making sure to cut a slit in the entryway for a pet door and this heater seems to keep the inside temp just right. Not too hot. According to the manual 60° give or take on the lowest setting. I think it's super important to insulate your doghouse after installing this to help retain heat or it'll run continuously. I pretty much have central heat in the winter for my beloved fur babies and feel much better knowing their comfy even in the coldest of weather. Wouldn't hesitate to buy another. Well worth $100

Fan runs continuously
Anyone thinking of buying this heater just know that the fan will run continuously and must be shut off manually. The heater will not operate without the fan running. The spring loaded lid covering the controls is a bit difficult to open especially if you have to crawl into the dog house to turn it off. The only other options are to unplug it or wire it to an external switch which is what we did. I'm not too happy with that feature.

not recommend....Stopped working
I installed this heater in my dog house. It seemed to work fine for the first winter. I live in eastern Washington and our winter was very mild in the Valley area. I am at 800ft elevation so we do not get a lot of snow or extreme cold weather. Now it does not heat at all. It only blows cold air. I tried unplugging it, vacuuming it just to be sure is was not clogged with dust. It has plenty of space behind it for it to work. I would not recommend this item as a purchase.

happy dogs
I had my doubts at first, but it works great in my 4x6 dog house. very economical to run and was easy to install. It would work well in a bigger dog house too.

These are awesome
We have a canal with several hunting dogs.Usually we have to take them in and out of the basement this year we decided to buy these. Our dogs are so comfy and warm. Wish I could afford the ones with remote but we had to buy 5

Don't use the template! It is wrong.
The template is the wrong size. I assume that they took the original 8.5x11 instruction sheet and reduced it down to a smaller size. Unfortunately I drilled the holes before I noticed. (I should have listened to my son who commented that the cord hole outline was much smaller than the specified 1 1/8 drill bit.)The bottom surface of the heater heats to 160 degrees! I assume the dog wouldn't press against it, but somewhat surprising. They recommend mounting the heater high. But also note that heat rises. This heater would work better on a well insulated dog house. On a 32 degree windy evening, in my 16 cu ft dog house, the temperature ranged from around 70 degrees 1 inch from the bottom heater plate to 40 degrees near the floor in the middle of the house. (The heater was on the medium setting, but it was running full time during my measurements. Take the temperature ranges for the thermostat setting with a grain of salt. The thermostat in the heater has no idea how warm the center of your doghouse is. This isn't a fault of the product. It is just the way heat works in a house with an open door. There will not be an even temperature no matter what the heat source is.)I am generally satisfied with the heating ability of this unit (4 stars), but very disappointed in the faulty template (zero stars).

My dogs are loving it!
I was concerned cause the dog house is alot bigger than most and the heater doesn't seem very powerful but it's working great, we have it set just past the medium and it's ranging from 57-62 degrees on a 23 degree night but the house is fully insulated and has a door flap
