Excellent, well made, clean design

Nice little table. Besides setting it up as a clamping surface I use an end mill to finish material edges or cut. Works well Much heavier construction than it looks online.

WEN Drill Press TableI was in the planning stages to make a DIY table for an older Craftsman 8" drill press. But when I saw the WEN table I knew my limited carpentry skills could not make a competitive product considering the time and materials I would need. Given my list of cons below I would still by again.Packaging. The table arrived timely and in good condition. It was not repackaged into an external box. Rather it came in a WEN factory box which sufficed to protect the table from damage in transit using Styrofoam and bubble wrap. Small parts were in their own box. No complaints.First Impressions. It's a nice looking table made with 1" MDF (table, fence and stop block, only). The table (top/bottom), fence (front/back), stop block (front/back) and sacrificial block (top/bottom) are all covered in white melamine. Two mounting inserts can be found on the underside of the table to accommodate various drill press tables.Pros. Easy to assemble and mount. Does not interfere will the drill press vertical control handle. Melamine provides a slick surface so no drag on whatever you may be drilling. The table is edge banded (in what I don't know) front, back and sides. Nice touch.Cons. 1) Insert is 0.35" thick while recess it fits into is 0.4". Recess won't accept 1/2" insert so I have to buy some 3/8" to make spare inserts.2) Star knob/bolt are different than that used on the fence. Losing/breaking one leaves you in a pickle.3) There's an odd chamfer on the top of the stop block (closest to the fence t-slot) and none on the fence bottom. Seems to me it would better serve on the bottom.4) Fence interferres with the drill press vertical feed when placed forward within (about)2" from the back. I removed 2 of the 3 handles which helped most of the time. Also, you'll have trouble drilling small parts (i.e., 3/4" wide which happens to be one of my upcoming projects) and the drill spindle will make contact with the top of the fence. (I made a shorter axilliary fence that mounts using the fence bolts. The distance from the spindle center to the top, forward edge of the fence is about 7/8" which again limits small part drilling.5) All exposed surfaces are subject to moisture which my shop has too much of. So I coated all exposed surfaces with a coat or two of BLO.6) The table weighs around 10 lbs making raising/lowering it more troublesome.

I think most of us need a table for our drill presses. The little ones built in just never seem quite enough to get the job done. And so there are a couple of options. It's certainly possible to build your own and then you can get exactly the size and specifications you want. If you don't want to go that route, I think you'll be quite happy with this one.Installation is quick and easy (it easily fit my WEN drill press and should fit almost any other one as well), and the features included do pretty much everything I need them to do. The adjustable fence is square and easy to adjust, and the built-in adjustable stop block makes most jobs quick and easy. The one thing that isn't included but I wish was included is T-track clamps. The table is certainly compatible with them (using the same tracks as hold the fence), though, so you can add them if you want.Admittedly, this isn't made of the most durable materials in the world, so it's not going to last forever, particularly if you put it through a lot of abuse in your shop. However, it will last more than long enough to justify the price, and I'm quite happy to have it on my drill press.

I will still give this table a 5 star rating. The table is easy to setup, the fence is fantastic. The only thing is the T track doesn’t take most standard sized hold downs. Easy enough to swap the bolt out with one that will fit but with the given demographic of this product, I wished Wen would have taken that into account. With that being said, I had to literally not pick to find a flaw. Great table, makes batching out small projects effortless.
