I needed a reliable portable welder for outdoor use
This welder is absolutely awesome. Bought it because I wanted a flux-core welder that is portable and actually works just for flux-core wire (.030). I haven’t welded in twenty years, but the HitBox Mig welder (HIM 200) worked flawlessly. The one dial allows you to either select the Amperage, or the Thickness of material. Set Amperage to 90A for .065 thin-walled tubing & 137A for 1/8" thick stuff…it has great, very consistent arc using 20A-120v, and kept up. Only negatives are the manual is in DIRE need of some editing and remove the MIG "Gas" nozzle and install a Harbor Freight Vulcan flux-core nozzle (better view of the arc/bead). With this information, page 11 of the manual is all you really need. And don't forget to attend YouTube Trade School sessions on "Flux-Cored MIG Welding".

Very Impresssed ! Good Value for the money !
I have been very impressed with this little machine. It has delivered excellent value for it's low cost. For the price you can't beat it.I can (and have) grabed it to do a quick small repair on up to 3/8" steel.I have also used it to mock up an assembly from 1/4" stock, in a tight space while up on a roof or in a manlift 60' up in a warehouse ceiling for mounting brackets for speciality equipment that needs to be fabricated and then certified by an equipment manufacturer. The only minor issue I have with it is the amperage shown on it's display is not correct. It will show 140a while it is putting out about 80 amps and show 200 amps when it is actually delivering about 90-95 amps (checked that with a digital clampmeter). That is not a deal killer for me because I have been doing this so long. It has not seemed to change or have any effect on it's usage in the time I have had it .IIt's not a Miller, but for 1/20 of the price you can't beat it.

Simple to use.
Well I used it and it seems to work pretty good, I bought glasses not full face mask and the energy burned my face so I'll have to get a full face in the future but it does work with ease.you will have to string the wire . fairly easy.

Mighty Little Machine
This is a fantastic little machine! I tested it on 110v. I did a little wire(MIG)welding at first, then a little (Arc)stick welding and it was flawless. I was shocked I didn't have to crank the Amperage being 110, but I didn't have to. I dialed it about half maybe a little less. Perfect!!The unit itself is small but lightweight. I love how compact it is and easy to carry with you. A lot of bang for your buck w/ this dual/voltage 3 in 1 welder (Arc, Mig, Tig) Please note the Tig torch does not come with unit.Overall, I'm extremely happy w/ this purchase and would highly recommend this set up to anyone who's into welding. Weather you're a beginner or a pro, you will find this machine fills the need for a welder and does it well! Plus if you're new to welding the controls are very easy to readand it's extremely easy to use.

Follow the picture for flux-core/MIG, BUT NOT THE WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS.
First thing I did was break the welder because the instructions tell you to plug the grounding clip into the negative terminal. This caused the wire to bunch up in the cable coming from the welder to the gun. Luckily I'm capable enough to take the thing apart and fix it. Then I had the thought to look at the picture, which contradicted the instructions. So I connected the grounding clip to the positive terminal. Then the welder worked fine. I'm not sure if this is better or worse. It's nice that you're not holding the positive in your hand, but then anything touching the workpiece is live. Once you get past the fact that the instructions don't make any sense at all, this is a decent welder for the low price. Just make sure you are very careful setting it up, and do small tests that can't jeopardize the entire system. For your first test welds, don't have the wire come directly out into the workpiece. Let the wire come out, then hit the trigger and move the wire across the workpiece. This way you only glance off the piece if there's no electrical potential. As others have stated, this is really only for flux-core and stick. There's no inlet for gas, so the description is just completely incorrect.
