If you have the base game, you need this expansion. The base game was... not good, on its own. The competitive nature just doesn't work right, and doesn't feel good. It is so bad that you can be playing, pick up a quest, and then have someone else complete the quest right under your nose. This expansion fixes that.This expansion give you all of the previously released questlines with cooperative rules so that all of the players are on the same side. It is much more fun to play against the board than against the board AND each other. They added some good mechanics which help make things more fun, but there are a few other things that I think can be ignored, if you don't want to use them.I 100% recommend this expansion if you have the base game. I think this is essential and required to make the game the game you probably thought you bought.

So, when I purchased the game that is the “Core Game/Base Game” it was fully enjoyable & it became a favorite over time. The instructions and board along with all its pieces were exactly what was needed to learn and enjoy the game. But, after you play the game for a while you would like to expand the field of play. Which is what “expansions”, “upgrades”, etc have always done for games. It primarily was for video games but as these type games are styled after their predecessors of video game play, those newer additions added further variation to the game. That what this add on did. I am glad we purchased it & I recommend to anyone else who plays these games to purchase it and the others.

We are escape room writers and owners, trapped at home during quarantine. I ordered these for the family to pass all of our free time not working 24/7 and they are pretty fun. I love how the app integrates (and enhances the experience with a soundtrack). We did terribly on both the easy and medium games and haven't tried the difficult yet. I'd say we are expert or nearly-expert escape room people but there are some strange leaps in logic in these games. We don't like to be wrong so sometimes we didn't try things which were silly but turned out to be the correct answer. So we wasted a lot of time talking ourselves out of things which were correct. I am really impressed how cards get added together to "solve" puzzles. Great design and very clever. The hint system through the app is pretty cool too. Overall we liked them.

This add on fixes all issues with the main game, it makes it co-op which feels way better than pvp but most importantly it slows the game down a bit and makes you focus on side quests and exploration a bit more.

I played the first one of these (Tombstone Express) with my wife and two teenagers and it was a great experience. The app works seamlessly with the cards and it is a challenge. They have a simple tutorial to get you a bit familiar with the way the game works. This is really the 2nd one we have played and each time we have gotten stuck in certain parts for a while but in the end we were able to work through them. I think this is a great concept for a simple escape room type experience with a small group. It really only works to use them 1 time but you can always share with friends/family so others can enjoy. I would definitely purchase more of these.

After playing with this expansion pack, I began to wonder why many of the added features were not already in the game.I dont even keep the expansion peices sererate in case I want to play without it, it's just that good.
