We love this advent calendar! I never write reviews, but this one deserved a good one! I got this for my 3 year old son because once we put up Christmas decorations he thought every day was Christmas! We got this to help him understand that we have to wait for Christmas to get here and it has served that purpose! Every morning he asks to look at the number on my phone calendar so he can find it on the the little boxes and put up the ornament for that day. It’s been very educational and also very fun for him. He gets so excited!! The ornaments are small and he needs help to put them on the hooks, but that’s no big deal at all. Plus, it’s so pretty and we get a lot of compliments on it! This is a great buy and our favorite Christmas decoration!

Love the design- had a similar one growing up- but the little knobs are not glued on properly, and a couple have fallen off. Some of the metal hooks have weak adhesive and others are bent too far in to hang the ornaments (you have to bend them out yourself at risk of breaking off the hooks). Also- was disappointed to find that not every ornament is unique like the one when I was younger.

I spent ages trying to decide which advent calendar I wanted to get. I really wanted a tree to hang the little ornaments on, like I did when I was a kid. Despite the mixed reviews, I decided on this one. It was the best price of all of my options and was closest to what I wanted. I guess some of the bad experiences were flukes, but the one I got is great! All of the ornaments made it and everything is intact.The only things I noticed were tiny: one of the little compartments has some sort of mottled paint on it? It's not super obvious but it is a little odd. And I can see a little glue around one of the knobs. I worried it would come off, but it is secure.I tried to fit a Hershey's kiss in with each ornament and it fits, but when you open the door it covers part of the opening so getting anything tall out is really difficult. I ultimately settled on two peanut butter m&ms for each slot. Fits perfectly!Overall, I'll take one star off since I can see a few flaws in the manufacturing, but I have a feeling this calendar will have a place in my Christmas decor for years to come.

My mom had one of these when I was growing up. It was my favorite tradition, so I decided to get one. I feel that my moms is a little bigger but this one is still cute and the ornaments are good quality.

I bought this to help my toddler get excited about Christmas, and because I always loved our advent calendars when I was a child. I was slightly disappointed by the size of the spaces behind each number (as I had hoped to hide small toys/treats in there), but the ornaments are very cute and my son loved hanging them on the hooks.Within a day, one of the hooks had come out of the tree. Within a week, multiple hooks had come out of the top of the ornaments and some of the wood was breaking around the pre-drilled holes for them.I ended up having to throw the thing in the garbage I no longer felt comfortable allowing my son to help me hang the ornaments. We weren't overly rough with the tree or ornaments, just opened the doors and hung a new ornament each day. I was beyond disappointed with the quality of this product and will definitely shop other brands when I replace it for next year.

The only concern I have is that the upper part could be a little fragile if handled roughly. To be fair though, I have five kids who all want to touch; they particularly like hanging the little ornaments each day. The material should be perfectly fine in most cases though. We had a previous calendar with similar doors, those would get stuck which eventually caused the door handles to pop off when we tried to open it. The doors on this all swing freely, that could be problematic if the kids get to hands on and tip it forward a bit and spill the ornaments. Its a cute design, take care of it and it should last.

Bought it for my two year old. The compartments are big enough to.put a very small piece of candy, but since my child doesn't eat sweets the ornaments provided to put on the tree we're perfect! Difficufor the little doors to stay open though. But a fun thing to do every night!
