Why Swarm Science invites you to the next level, Swarm Science is a swarm lure that takes fled-catching to the next level. Our swirm lures combine the natural compounds contained in Nasonovpheromone which the bees release from the Nasonov gland, to induce the honeybee into the nest box, in this case, the colony's new home site (trap). Swarm Science greatly improves the ability to catch a horn of bees and saves hundreds of money over buying a bee. The flock is not luck, but science. Yes, the flock will be moved to a random location and you may think to choose anywhere as a new home site, but not. These are a very small percentage of the flock we see, but the majority of hordes go to a new home site we never see. Thanks to the extensive research of Dr. Thomas Seely and a horde of honey bees, we know how to maximize the number of hordes that can be captured during the flock season. Last year, even in the suburban neighborhood, you can catch 10 hordes in three traps! Four steps to success the flock 1.) Using Pheromone: Swarm Science mimics the complex chemistry of Nasonov pheromone that bees use to attract flocks to new homes. In addition to swarm science lures, you can also add an old comb to your swarm trap. 2) Placement: Place the flock trap 10-15 feet away from the ground near the tree trunk. 3.) Trap Size: To maximize the potential to attract a fleet, the trap size must be 40L (2 deep nuclear boxes of 5 frames or 1 10 frame deep box with entrance of 3.8-5 inches ². 4.) Timing: Traps should be placed in early spring for a few weeks before the first flock is found in your area. Scouts start looking for a new home site before the flock leaves the colony.
