This vacuum is amazing with great suction! I saw a store using on their doormat.
We have a bunch of large door floor mats in front of several doors in the house, plus some walkway doorways that collect dirt and lint balls on the carpet. Always a big project getting out the canister vacuum, hose, and carpet floor unit to vacuum, so they don't get vacuumed as often as they should. A few weeks ago I'm walking out of a local large grocery store and see one of this model of Shark stick vacuum being used on their entry doorway floor mat. I took a look and remembered "Rocket" on the carpet unit, then tracked the stick vac down here and at a big box home store. What really caught my attention was the clear plastic "catch bin" at the top! Seemed like exactly the right thing in the right place, and clear so I could see what was being picked up. Well yep, having bought one, it works even better than expected! The various comments here, before I bought, said you have to pull the "high suction" trigger to get sufficient power on carpets, and that drains the battery faster. BOTH TRUE, BUT WHEN YOU DO THAT THIS THING SUCKS LIKE CRAZY! I'm impressed with what was in the catch bin and what I could see coming up from the carpets and mats. Small bits like cat litter, large bits of stuff, lint, hairs, everything on the mats and rug walkways. I vacuumed two carpet areas in in doorways between rooms that always accumulate a lot of dirt. Then vacuumed 3 of the door mats. Then vacuumed part of a sunroom carpet where a bunch of cats live. Even on the "high suction" the battery was only 2/3 gone after all that (there are 3 LEDs that tell you charge/discharge level) but I stopped because it looked like the catch bin might be full. This was first use and I wasn't sure. Yep, completely full, and that is a large bin! One thing: INSTRUCTIONS ARE NOT CLEAR THAT THE CATCH BIN EMPTIES WITH A TRAP DOOR ON ITS BOTTOM, WHEN YOU PRESS THE EMPTY LEVER. SO IT WILL DUMP RIGHT INTO YOUR LAP IF YOU DON'T KNOW THAT UPFRONT, LIKE HAPPENED TO ME. :) Luckily it was close enough to my lap that the suddenly-open trap door hit my leg and only opened about an inch, limiting how much came out until I could move it and me to the trash can. :) Knowing how it works now, I just hold it over the trash can then trigger the bottom door release. Which is really great, you don't have to turn the catch bin upside down and shake or such. There isn't a printed set of "word" instructions with the unit, it is one of those picture instruction pamphlets. For the most part that works, as in: assemble the stick pipe into the floor unit, then the vacuum head onto the stick pipe. There apparently is a QR code on the top than can be scanned for more instructions. Pro tip: the inside of the catch bin will be dusty after you empty. I used a "computer air" spray can (for PC keyboards and such) to blow out the inside and top. There is no way to get the unit to self-stand that I've found, for storage, as other comments here have noted. I found two cabinets with a space between them wide enough to set this unit in upright. Done! Even has a plug nearby for the charger. Those LEDs near the "suction trigger" show you how the charging is coming along. 3 of them that light in sequence as it charges, then they all go off when completely charged. Charges reasonably fast. At a local big box home store I saw this unit in person, plus a whole bunch of other brands and models. Yep, I "showroomed" then ordered here for $30 less. :/ None of the brands and models had that nice, large, clear catch bin at the top back like this one has. Several brands had black or opaque catch bins and they were located in odd places. Why? To make sure I won't be able to see how full it is getting? Guys! :) This vacuum is great, for what it is, a quick and fairly powerful unit to quickly clean floor mats, doorways, and other small areas. Probably not the ideal thing for your entire living room rug, although could do it with a few re-charges and catch bin empties. Summary: just buy it already! :) A+++++

10/10 would buy again
This vacuum was my one and only prime day splurge last year and I have not regretted it even once. I researched different stick vacs and decided this model seemed like the best value for what I needed (vs. dyson and other brands).Overall summary: extremely easy to use, charge, and clean the vacuum itself. Very effective and functional, would absolutely buy again even if it died tomorrow after only one year of owning but it seems to be working about 98% as well as it was right out of the box. I specifically waited a year to write this because many reviews I read when comparing cordless vacuums prior to purchase mentioned problems after about 6 months of use. I've had none. The rest of the review is long but I know if I would have appreciated reading this input when shopping around.Battery life: I timed the use when I first got it and ran it for ~40 minutes switching between hard floor and carpet settings and it did not run out. I think it's only died on me once or twice in the entire time I've had it, and that's when I was vacuuming the entire ~3000 sq ft house in one go. Since I usually stick to just upstairs or just downstairs at a time, battery isn't an issue for me even on the high power setting.Suction/dust cup capacity: the suction is only ever affected when the dust collector cup is seriously full, and since we had two cats and one dog and were catching up on a long time of neglecting vacuuming, this was pretty often at first. Since then we've gotten through one or two full battery charges worth of cleaning without having to empty, which means the suction has been great. We use crystal cat litter that sometimes gets statically stuck to our cat's fur and he will shake it off on the carpeted floor. This vacuum has been great at getting the litter (and fur of course) out of the carpet. Not to mention actually emptying the dust cup is super easy too.Hand vac/crevice tool: switching attachments is also very easy. I had a super cheap hand vac I used to use for crevices and cleaning my car, but no more. This is great for getting in between couch cushions, car seats, cup holders, floorboards, etc.Brush roll: I have long hair and I shed a lot more than the average person. One of the biggest deciding factors between brands for me was the ability to get my hair out of the brush roll and I definitely made the right choice on this one. Even when my hair is clogging the brush roll, it has never once actually stopped it from rolling and has barely changed the effectiveness at all. When I do clean it out - it's SO easy thanks to the grooves on the roll and the bristle design. Even on other vacuums that are supposedly designed to easily clean the brush roll, it has never been this easy before.Down side: The only suggestion for improvement I have is that the tiny wheels on the front of the vacuum head were tangled with fur/dust/hair after the second or third use. Unlike the brush roll, it seems impossible to fix this. On the other hand, even though I'm not sure those wheels even roll anymore, it hasn't actually seemed to have any effect on the vacuum's functionality which is why I'm still giving five stars. If you are on the fence about getting a stick vac in general:I cannot recommend it enough and it is absolutely worth making the switch. My partner and I both have depression and ADHD which makes it very hard for us to find the motivation to clean. Since getting this vacuum I am not kidding, I have vacuumed more in the past year than I have the rest of my adult life (I'm 32! Yes, this is embarrassing!). We keep this near the kitchen within easy reach and eye sight, and it's small enough not to be in the way. We also have carpeted stairs which were the worst to have to deal with - both mentally and literally - and now I vacuum them regularly just because it's so easy. We have had multiple full size/traditional "pet" specific vacuums before and this specific model has equal or better suction power and is so much more convenient than all of them. And it fits under the couch!
