I'm used to taking niacin in capsules. What's the best way to take it when it's in powder form?

I take both capsules and powder. Capsules I use now when busy running around all day. I put the Niacin powder (and Vit. C powder) in my morning smoothie - and/or afternoon or evening smoothies. I also put Vit. C powder in my water bottle every day - tastes great. But the powder Niacin is a bit bitter if taken in water or quite bitter, to me, if taken straight off the spoon. Might be fine in a small glass of OJ or Apple Juice, though.
