Q: Why is this mixed with a calcium base when some stones are from calcium…?

It's a phosphorus binder. Not for stone prevention.

Q: Is the powder flavored with anything? My cat won't eat when I add the phosphorus binder I currently use to his food.

Chitosin is a product of powdered crustacean shell, I believe. It had no smell, but my cats refused to eat their food when I mixed it in. So, I wasted money on this purchase. I'm used to that with cats, I don't think it is necessarily the product. Probably does not help. Sorry.
