Comfortable and lots of pockets
These fit comfortably, roomy in the leg without being excessively baggy, high waisted, so no 'builder's bum' and with a half-elasticated waist which stops them digging in when I bend down. There are also belt loops should you need them. They are ever so slightly too long in the leg for me, but that is easily fixed. The material is a bit thicker than walking trousers, so will hopefully be hard wearing and the seams appear to be well stitched, so hopefully no fraying. One of the things I liked about these trousers was the number of pockets. I find a lot of womens' trousers have very few pockets and/or they are too small fit a phone. These trousers have a load of options, most of which are zipped and a leg pocket with velcro flap and all are roomy. I've had phone and car keys in two of the pockets and had no problem zipping up and no issue of them digging in if I bend or crouch. There are also pockets for knee pads, which may come in handy. I've not needed them so far, but I've seen on other reviews that the knee pads fall out as the pockets open at the bottom and have no velcro. It may be of use to know that I've looked at the pockets and discovered that there is an internal flap, like you get on pillow cases, so no velcro needed and it saves kneeling on uncomfortable press studs or stiff patches of velcro when there are not any knee pads inserted. I've only been using them for a few weeks, but so far I would have no trouble buying another pair or recommending them.

Good trousers, little uncomfortable
I love these trousers purely for the pockets - there are so many pockets and with so many zips, it is fantastic. The material is also good. I'm a uk size 14-16 and I got the size large and they fit pretty okay, but the legs are a bit too long for me (I'm 162cm tall) and there isn't much space in the butt area. They are also a bit uncomfortable when sitting as the crotch seam rides up.

Pockets good, comfort okay, material meh
First off, I bought a pair of Lee Cooper cargo trousers in addition to these. I had to return them, as although the quality of those was far superior, the fit wasn't what I'd hoped. These Portwest ones are cheaper, in both price and quality, but have the advantage of an elasticated waist at the back and a bit more room in the legs, meaning they fit better and the pockets are actually usuable (if somewhat over-supplied with zips, unless you're into that). I'm not quite sure what I think of the gaping front hip pockets (they have a side gusset so they gape open like a kangaroo pouch) - they certainly aren't a fashion statement, but they may prove to be incredibly useful for items when gardening or doing DIY. i'm very aware of the feel of the cheap material against my legs (the Lee Cooper ones were far nicer against the skin), but maybe that will improve with a few washes. I think I'll be keeping these ones, for gardening at least, but I'm still looking for the ultimate, comfy, stylish pair of cargo trousers that I can wear for walking & casual wear as well as home/garden use.Edit: as suggested by the material and my original review, these didn't last well. The fabric on the inner thighs soon wore through. They did become nicer to wear after a few washes, but the poor longevity means I won't be buying again.
