Great gift
I’ve bought this playleantology kit twice now for two different boys birthdays but it would be an awesome gift for any kid who likes dinosaurs. The boys were turning 7 and 8. Both times the moms sent me pictures of her kid posing with the completed dinosaur, and saying it was a fun and enjoyable gift.My 4 year old daughter was a little envious and wanted the kit for herself so when she is a little older we will probably be buying this kit a third time and doing it ourselves. It’s amazing how much fun the kids have digging out the pieces, which was a time consuming process.

Great gift
We opened this present up pretty immediately after Christmas morning and my boys loved digging, hammering, etc to get to all the “fossils”. It made a huge mess which was fine...we kinda figured that was part of it. Nothing a vacuum couldn’t handle. They needed a little assistance putting it together as the pieces fit very tightly. One of the leg pieces comes out pretty easily bc we can’t seem to actually get the pieces to snap all the way together but also my boys are at the age where they take it apart all the time so that could be the issue also. Overall it was a great gift and they still play with it 2 months down the road.

My video should show enough.. Ideal gift for my 4 yr olds!
The media could not be loaded. By far this is their favorite christmas gift ever! The idea of slowly revealing the bones fills them with awe and joy! We only do a little a day about thirty minutes and they have been doing this for four days now. Because we talked about the importance of going slow and being careful just like a real paleontologist would. Once we have a couple pieces out we go into cleaning mode and brush it thoroughly to make sure it is ready to be washed and set aside for the display! They love this interaction.

A Paleontology blast!
As an educator and mom I was so happy to come across this Dino exploration set. Gifted it to my 2nd grader son who loved the entire idea of being a paleontologist as we dug for the fossils/bones with actual tools. I loved that it was a multi layered process and STEM approved. After digging for the bones through the material it was encased in we went through each bones and cleaned them. Then we started attaching the bones to one another. I highly recommend this!

Messy, time consuming, easily broken, Unable to display
Child’s toy. My son received this as a gift. He enjoyed digging the dinosaur bones out of the clay for a while, but then became bored and tried to break the clay by dropping it on the concrete outside. (It was also very dusty and messy.) This broke a piece of the dinosaur’s foot. We ended up putting the pieces in a strainer and showering them with water to remove the rest of the clay. After assembly, we discovered the piece under the t-rex’s jaw that is supposed to make it move was broken and does not function properly. And the piece that was broken when he dropped it on the concrete was part of the foot, so it does not stand on its display stand. Each time it falls over the pieces come apart and have to be reassembled. Therefore it cannot be displayed on his shelf in his room because it is constantly falling apart. Overall, pretty disappointing. Delicate toy that requires a lot of patience to dig out. And constant reassembly. More like a messy, time consuming afternoon game to dig out, then a puzzle that can be reassembled. Better to keep the box and put it away between uses than to display.

Fun activity, cool toy!
My son absolutely loved this! Best done outdoors and with a handkerchief mask to keep the dust out of your lungs. We used safety glasses too, just in case a chip of the plaster went flying. My 4 year old worked pretty hard at this, and after a few sessions he got all of the bones free (with my help). The display/toy is awesome to play with. He took it with him everywhere for a few days and people asked where we got it. We were very impressed with this item.

Great activity
Wow! My kids loved digging this dinosaur out. This occupied them for several hours. My kids are 7 & 10. They were able to assemble it themselves. My 7 year old wants to use it as a toy. It’s meant to be a model and doesn’t flex well so when he tries to make move a foot pops off. Definitely a nice model for a young kid to make on their own.

Kept the niece and nephew busy for hours
This was a gift for my niece and nephew - It kept them busy for hours! They needed a bit of help assembling the bones after (they were 6 and 4). This really was a fun experience and it made them curious about dinosaurs, whcih was great.
