Only acts like it works, but doesn't.
I thought you should know.On 29MAR15 this was my review of the MESR-100 V2 for another vendor:I'm an electrical engineer. I bought this ESR meter with the intent of using it near the bottom of its range, in the neighborhood of less than 0.100 ohm. Although the meter seemed to operate correctly, that is to say it zeroed and gave measured values for ESR, THE VALUES WERE WRONG! There seems to the three major failings for this device:1) Capacitive reactance (e.g. in a 1 uF) must not affect the measurement, but it does with this meter.2) Test lead inductance must be effectively 'nulled out' or rendered insignificant, but it greatly affects measurements made with this meter.3) Any functional ESR meter will measure the value of a non-inductive resistor correctly, but this one won't.Summary: All of the above negative attributes should have been addressed if this ESR meter were competently engineered. The Users Guide states, "Using true 100 KHz sine wave to measure the ESR value, which is equal to testing method of capacitor manufacturer." NO WAY is this "equal to" anything a manufacturer does to measure ESR. Maybe in version three?
