90% great
Once this is running, it works great. No instructions provided and the pump was very difficult to prime. I initially tried blowing into it as recommended in other reviews with no success. Ended up I had to just apply more pressure. I ended up grabbing an air compressor and using that just to get the pump started.Aside from that, it doesn’t leak, it works pretty quickly too. Your average homebrewer might be upset about lost product in the filter’s housing. While it’s not recommended for the life of the pump, if you want, you can run the pump dry and it will get most of your liquid through the housing in the end.

AVAILABILITY OF SPARE PARTS.
The product works fine but I dropped the Plastic Filter case and it has a small crack which will only get worse and start leaking but the Vendor has not answered as to whether they can supply a replacement. I really need to get a replacement as this is an excellent device but with a cracked Filter will be worthless.Your assistance is being sought, urgently!

Will not pump at all.
Bought it and when I was ready to use it I unboxed it it wouldn't pump the fluid and since it was past 30 days I'm stuck with it. So I'm stuck with it.

Priming sucks. Read Jems review.
Thank you Jem. This thing IS HARD to prime.Once it was primed, it worked great. The YouTube vid the directions send you to is for a completely different pump.Documentation is sparse and conflicting between the directions for the pump and the filter solution. One says soak for 2 minutes, the other days 15-20. I did 15.5 stars for getting it working and the performance. -2 stars for absolutely terrible instructions.

This is how you prime the pump
This product works, but not right away. The included documentation and the documentation and videos on the manufacturer's website are all terrible, so I'm deducting one star for causing me stress and wasting my time. Yes, I know the company wants me to email their support department before deducting stars, but that in itself is worthy of losing a second star because I shouldn't have to waste more of my time sending an email in order to receive two sentences of critical documentation that should have been included with the product. The bad documentation says that you "may need to prime the pump" before using it, but gives no instructions on how to do that. A Web search reveals no further clues or guidance. Typically any kind of pump will have an access valve that you can unscrew by hand and pour some liquid into to prime it, but this pump doesn't have that. Instead you have to turn the motor on, then put the input end of the tube (the end with the wand) into your mouth and blow into it like you're inflating a balloon. After about 1-2 seconds of pressure, the pump should start to work properly. Alternatively I guess you could try sucking on the output tube, but that seems less safe to me.Lastly, the included #2 filters aren't fine enough to remove the silt from cider or mead. I expect the #3 filters will work better, but I haven't tried them yet.
