What is the outside diameter of this grill? The description says 10x10 but thats not possible.

Just measured mine that I installed myself and it is 21 inches wide by 22 inches long. The 22 inches is the axis with the supply air exhaust at the end caps. The two large surface air filters are on the width axis. I mounted mine over the standard 14 inch square vent that holds the actual condenser/evaporator unit. The entire unit is very easy to install. My son-in-law and I installed a brand new unit in 20 minutes. I installed the condenser/evaporator unit, this ceiling grill, and the optional heater unit in that time. My vent was not pre-wired, so I spent the next 5 hours running 10/2 wire in a raceway down to the side of my trailer and put a 30A plug on it.

Is this a stand alone unit or do i need an existing roof top a/c unit and this is just a control panel?

This is just the control panel.

Can anyone give instructions on how I remove the old and install the new?

Underneath the filter panels there are 2 screws on each side, remove those, pull the knobs off, lower the unit, disconnect the electrical plugs. Done! Reverse to install.

Can I use a wall mounted thermostat with this?

This is just the vent cover and this particular model has the temperature controls on it, so I don't think it would work with a wall mounted AC system.
