I compared the Milwaukee, Gearwrench and a few other brands and this one had the largest number of sockets. You will need to add Tork bits, but it is totally worth it. Great size to add to a small bag for camping, ice fishing, or hunting…

I have this set and use it often, the wife was always asking me why she did not have her own. So, for Christmas I got a set for her and I don't have to ask her where my set is. Happy wife, happy life.

This is a great combination of tools in a fairly compact case that does the brand proud. Of course though in typically DeWalt fashion it's really unclear what exactly you're buying in the listing or even on their own website's product page. Here's what it includes:* 1 nice ratchet, plus 2 different length extensions* 13 metric sockets: 7mm, 8mm, 9mm, 10mm, 11mm, 12mm, 13mm, 14mm, 15mm, 16mm, 17mm, 18mm, 19mm* 10 'murica sockets: 1/4", 5/16", 3/8", 7/16", 1/2", 9/16", 5/8", 11/16", 3/4", plus a deeper 5/8" spark-plug style one(Even the smallest sockets all use the same medium-sized socket head of the ratchet, so no adapter is ever needed within this set.)* 6 torx bits: T-10, T-15, T-20, T-25, T-30, T-40* 5 hex bits: 6, 5, 4, 3, 2.5* 11 philips-ish bits: 3x No. 1, 4x No. 2, 4x No. 3* 1 bit driver with a small socket-style head, plus 1 adapter so it can drive the bits(Within this set, it's a bit weird why this is in two pieces since the adapter is ALWAYS needed. I.. neither the screwdriver nor the bits are usable with anything else in this kit, except via the adapter. But if you have other sockets you'd be able to use the screwdriver with those, so it's a small hassle that nevertheless adds some versatility.)Hope that's helpful information in case you're looking for a kit with certain things in particular.All in all it's a pretty decent set. I really like the pro look and feel of the ratchet; its L/R toggle has a nice thumb-flippable action. The top side of the case has a painted logo and the bottom doesn't… I might sharpie "upside down!" on the bottom side just in case it helps make One Of Those Days™ not get even worse 😅

This is a wonderful toolset for starters. It has most of what you need for the most basic tasks. The plastic case seems very sturdy, too, which is nice. This is the kind of toolset that you'd more than likely have in your car, just in case of such an emergency. It has most of what you would need for basic repairs. I would definitely recommend it. DeWalt has always been a good, quality product, and this is no exception.

I received this item free as an Amazon Vine reviewer and this is my honest review. I only review items I will actually use, and use I do, prior to writing a review.Who doesn’t need another pocket size ratchet/driver tool kit? As kits go this Dewalt Mechanics Tool Set is a very complete one (pictured). What attracted me to this set is the low-profile ratchet wrench (pictured). The head is very thin with the socket installed (pictured). Even the socket release button is flush (pictured), helping you squeeze into tight spots. The socket selection is impressive with both SAE and metric sockets going down to 5/32" and 4mm respectively. It also comes with a ¼” hand driver when you prefer to use the sockets in that fashion and a adapter that allows you to use the included screwdriver bits. A 3 and 6-inch extension round out this handy set.The quality of Dewalt is well known and this set, with my few weeks of use, meets my expectations. My only complaint is the sockets are not retained in the plastic carrier. So, if you open this upside down you end up dumping out a few dozen sockets all over your bench or floor (I know, I did it) and them having to hunt down each and get them in the right opening in the case. And half of the darn things roll under your bench and you have to lay down on the dirty floor and try to fish them out with a stick...I digress. The top of the case has a black molded Dewalt logo (pictured). But the bottom of the case is also has the same molded Dewalt logo, just not painted black (pictured). So, if you don’t remember top from bottom, you will be dumping the sockets out when you open the case. It would be better if Dewalt just marked the top with their logo and left the bottom blank, in my opinion.As I do at the end of all my reviews, I ask myself if I would actually purchase this item. Yes, I would buy this set.

The Dewalt 50 piece mechanics tool set is an excellent quality product that is perfect for keeping around the house, or as a universal tool kit to keep in your vehicle. I own several different Dewalt products and they have been long lasting quality products that performed above and beyond what I expected.I have several tool sets that I use for different purposes, but the one thing that stands out with this tool set is the low profile ratchet. This especially comes in handy when working on my vehicles in tight spaces. It makes it so much easier to add or remove parts. I used the ratchet combined with a low profile oil filter socket and it worked flawlessly when I was doing an oil change. There are also a ton of other useful, yet universal tools, included in this set. Everything from the sockets to spinner handle are top quality. With that said, there are a couple things worth mentioning:- The storage box is well made and good quality. However, make sure that you open it with the black bold "DeWalt" facing up, otherwise you’ll dump all the sockets out of the storage box when opening. Each socket does not lock in its place.- The socket sizes are embossed on the storage box, but they are the same color as the yellow box itself, making it hard to find the size you’re looking for. Ideally, the socket sizes would have been in a different color than the box.Aside from that, this is another great product made by Dewalt. It is exactly as described and a must have around the house or in a vehicle. Highly recommend!
