I have tried other brands, but Nature's Answer works best for me. I love that they're veggie caps and I respect this company's products! I always recommend this line of products to both clients and friends as the best company to find affordable but high-quality herbs & products.Activated charcoal is a MUST for food poisoning. I never travel without it! (I travel abroad a lot) and these have come in so handy to help other fellow weary travelers that have succumbed to Montezuma's Revenge, or Bali Belly, or Delhi Belly (you get the idea;) Even though it is best to start taking the charcoal with plenty of water at the first signs of food poisoning it will STILL help and should still be taken at any later stage as well.Activated charcoal works great as a binder for other fungus, bacteria, etc... and can be very helpful to take for the common cold or flu and especially helpful to take for those experiencing a 'herxheimer' reaction to bind up all the endotoxins being released from killing off bacteria and such in the body. If taking it for this reason, then it's best to take it away from foods (at least 2 hours before or after) so as not to bind all the nutrition from your food as well.I am not a doctor (yet;) and I am sharing my own personal experiences of how I use activated charcoal. None of the above information is to be taken as any type of medical advice - just sharing my own personal experiences.

This supplement is truly amazing! It has so many uses! These help me with my Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I take two before a meal I know will upset my stomach and they help a lot! I also take three after drinking alcohol because the toxins bind to the charcoal and get carried out of your body quicker- this helps prevent hangovers! I also occasionally open up a capsule and use the charcoal to brush my teeth- it helps remove coffee stains! I don't do this often because it is bad for your enamel if you do it too much (it grates on your enamel and over time if you lose your enamel you will start to lose your teeth).To those of you on a BIRTH CONTROL pill or who take daily medications: you must wait at least two hours after taking your medication to take a charcoal supplement or it will absorb your medication- charcoal absorbs/removes "toxins" and will absorb your meds. Be careful!

I would only recommend taking these after you've eaten or drank something bad (e.g. you're gluten intolerant and are exposed to it or you have alcohol poisoning). this isn't meant to be taken as a dietary supplement daily, but as a way to rinse not only toxins (also remember that charcoal itself IS a toxin) but to rinse everything out of your system before your body can absorb it (that includes nutrients!). I like to keep it on hand for when I'm exposed to gluten, but I don't like to make a habit of it or use it as an excuse to eat more gluten. I also mentioned this to my dermatologist and she told me NOT to use this to clear my skin because excess exposure to charcoal isn't healthy.

activated charcoal is great for many things but i use it to get rid of hives. the second i start getting hives i take 2 capsules every 2 hours about 4 times the first day. then i continue taking 2 charcoals 2 or 3 times a day until the hives are gone. i can't take prednisone so this is a magical godsend. if you take medicines you have to do it a little differently or it will also absorb the meds. some brands tell you to take it only a few times a day, other brands say take up to 16/day. whatever you take, it probably won't hurt you. it's so simple, inexpensive and you get better with no side effects.

I bought this after hearing how beneficial activated charcoal is for your skin and teeth. I break a capsule up and mix with a little water and brush nightly and my teeth have become 1-2 shades lighter within a couple of days! Also, I happened to have it on hand when that dreaded stomach bug was going around. The first signs of it in the house and I started taking 2 twice a day and the stomach bug passed me right up! Seriously, this little black pill is magic! Always something to have in the medicine cabinet! Great quality, shipped quickly and packaged nicely. Couldn't ask for more.

does anyone have any tips on this? i am not sure if i'm taking it correctly or not. i do not feel any better or any worse...i'd like to feel better in regards to stomach distention, uncomfortable abdomen, etc. any tips would be greatly, greatly appreciated! will update more when i know more.

Arrives in a dark glass bottle. Very nice quality, I love to make Diy face masks with this and brush my teeth, also as for what they are sold for work well with a upset stomach!To make a Diy peel away mask that you see all over youtube just add 3-4 caps in 2 tbs of elmers/ school glue and mix well and apply wait to fully dry and bam you got a great black head remover!Also just add a capsule to your tooth brush to get noticeably whiter teeth in one use! Faster than chemical whiteners.
