Great item!
Who doesn’t want to lather up some Shaving Cream in a Skull! Super high quality. Not plastic. Love it and it’s cool looking on the shelf! The scent on the soap is on point.

Very cool shave mug
Love this skull shave mug, looks awesome next to my sink - almost too pretty for shaving. The size is a bit on the large-side to hold well while working up a lather and the finish is porous which absorbs water, but does make it easier to grip when wet and slick with soap. Makes for great bathroom décor - shave with it, keep a candle in it, whatever floats your pirate ship!

Disappointed
The shave bowl was the main reason I ordered this set but unfortunately it doesn't have the color shown in picture it is just a very dull grey and black. The bowl itself is larger than I had expected making it hard to store. The shave cream did smell good, but it was covered in fuzz that did not look like other photos, so it went in the trash.

Enhances the shaving experience
I really enjoy my shaving experience with these items! I’m fairly new to shaving soaps and scuttle mugs, but this product was perfect for me. What you get for money are 2 really decent essential shaving tools, I was shocked at how big the can of shaving soap was. The soap smells amazing and feels great on my face, now I always look forward to shaving. The mug is a good weight to hold in your hand while you agitate the soap, not too heavy and not too light. The bowl is big enough to produce a decent amount of cream, so the functionality is there, but it also looks really cool!

For the price of $34 you cant beat it. The soap/croap is awesome
The mug is just cool, and for the price of $34 you can't beat it. The shaving soap/croap was great, they sell it currently for $14.99 which is the cheapest price I was able to find. I am not sure if the Burn the ships is discontinued, but it is hard to find, and I am not entirely sure who makes it. I am new to this, but of the soaps I have used, this is my favorite. The skull came very well packaged and protected, the cream lathered very well with both my Van Der Hagen boar brush and my synthetic Razorock brush. If you have someone you love who is thinking about Wet Shaving, then this is the kit to start with. The rough texture is so it does not slip out of your hands when it is wet and soapy. It also gets a patina from the shaving cream and the hard water.

Decent scented shave cream
This shave cream comes in two parts. One is a ceramic skull that you can use to mix your shave soap in with your brush. The other is the shave soap in a large covered bowl. It is pretty hard and you'll have to either slice out some to put in your skull or just use your brush with water in the bowl itself and put the cool ceramic skull on your shelf. That's what I did. Wetting your brush then whisking it around in the bowl creates a good thick lather all over your brush. It then goes on nice and smooth. I use some pretty high quality shave soaps so I was comparing this to those. This isn't quite as "slickery" as the others, though it does give good slide when shaving. The quality of the soap seems to be excellent though. The scent is nice and it rinses away nicely. It is super expensive, but I think you're paying more for the skull shave bowl than for the soap. I can't comment on how well the bowl works, but if I were to use it I would put it in hot water first to heat up the bowl, then apply soap and brush inside to make sure the soap is nice and warm. Ceramic bowls keep warm for quite a while so this would make for a nice shave. The skull bowl is pretty darn heavy, so this isn't something you could use in the shower (which is where I shave). It would be best to use sitting on your sink, as it won't function well holding this heavy thing in one hand in the shower while shaving with the other. The skull bowl is also pretty large too, like twice the size of a coffee cup. Like I said, it makes for a great conversation piece on a shelf. Either way, I like this soap, just wouldn't buy it with the skull bowl. Hopefully sold separately it will be much, much less expensive.
