Sturdy and well-made laptop stand but could be even better with minor modifications
This is a solid, stable and portable piece of kit which has an adequate extendable height for a standing desk for a laptop. I would have liked to give it 5 stars but cannot for four reasons. First, as other reviewers have said, the table top tilts in the wrong direction, both in terms of the position of the tripod legs and the ridged surround of the table. Second, although the height can be adjusted incrementally, the safety peg which secures the stem only has a limited number of holes. Third, the absence of instructions on securing the table top - without the guidance of other reviewers I would not have worked out how to remove and reinsert the axle (a process requiring brute force and a hammer to get the axle back in place). Finally, it is not possible to register for the life-time warranty because you have to provide a product code or an order number and neither are provided via Amazon. Moreover, the search function on the Pyle website does not find this projector stand, so you can't identify it through that route either. If Pyle would like six six stars, then make one which corrects these deficiencies and offers a gas piston.By the way, packaging and protection was minimalist - why? Other reviewers have commented on this too.

Seems solid, no instructions
Although there's not much to construct- the stand onto the tripod- there's no instructions and initially I could not work it out as a substantial bolt was in the way. In the end I gave it a hefty bang, freed it, and was able to then assemble. No clue how the safety bolt works though. It does seem substantial though. No carry bag.

Sturdy. Ridiculously Good Value.
**One thing to address before I get into my review. The negative reviews I've read concerning attaching the top plate/tray to the stand are, frankly, bogus. The screw is not welded in-- but it is firmly in there. Simply unscrew the thumb screw all the way off and tap the screw to release it. You might need to use a mallet or smack it with a wood block but it will come out. Then negotiate the top plate into position and reinsert the the set screw while being careful to keep the washers between the two halves. Screw the thumb screw back on, adjust the tilt of the plate to taste and tighten. Pyle probably should have included better instructions but they probably assumed customers would be a *bit* quicker on the uptake. Now for my review:Impressive stand. The metal poles are over an inch in diameter and the footprint if you fully extend the legs is nearly 30 inches (though you don't need to operate it that way). Suffice to say this stand is extremely sturdy and unlikely to tip over even if someone knocked into it. The plate up top is fully metal and not the plastic piece you find on most competitors. Height is not continually adjustable but adjustable via a cotter pin secured to the center pole by a canvas strap. Lowest height is roughly 35", then 42.5", 49", and finally 55.5". This will disappoint some but the cotter pin means this will hold a lot more weigh without risk of slipping. There is a lot more play/slop at the top height setting so I would recommend this at 49" or below. Laptops and smaller projectors won't cause this stand to break a sweat and the Pyle confidently held my 15 lbs BenQ X3000i which is not something I can say about the Innogear I bought alongside.About that: I bought the smaller tripod after I realized the Pyle might be too tall for my purposes. The Innogear is plenty sturdy for being so small and light but is somewhat let down by it's plastic tray table. It flexes and warps easily and I don't have much confidence in placing a projector much heavier than 7-8 lbs on it.Ultimately, I highly recommend the Pyle if it's size/height meets your requirements. You won't find a better tripod projector mount for the money (literally-- Amazon sells 'basically' the same thing for 50% more). The metal tray table and wide stance alone make this a winner versus the competition. I wouldn't try and balance a JVC on there but it should work for reasonably sized projectors 20 lbs or less.

VERY sturdy. VERY satisfied. The barebones of this are great, but could have had a few extras
I managed to get this discounted via AmazonWarehouse, and it arrived missing a few key things + literally bent out of shape in key areas, so I was able to get a further discount because I was able to fix it on my own to avoid sending it back and repurchasing all over again. For THAT price, this thing is a STEAL. It has a very sturdy base, as well as the swiveling platform has remained sturdy as well when locked in. My only little "quip" that I have on this is compared to other products with a similarly priced MSRP, they seem to have some extras that this is lacking. Ie: Phone holder/extra mini platform, carrying bag, etc. that this does not have.Having said that, this is EXACTLY what I needed, and I am very happy with the purchase.
