From a brick with wheels to a true Sports Utility Vehicle!
Anyone who owns a 4Runner knows that it’s not only slow but has the aerodynamics of a brick. As such its ability to accelerate to highway speeds adequately usually involves me almost putting the throttle on the floor (not joking).I got used to its sluggish throttle response as those who bought a 4Runner knows, it’s NOT a sports car. It’s a sports UTILITY vehicle. However, I must admit that this little plug-and-play gadget had my jaw on the floor (unlike my foot on the gas) and left my expectations in the dust. By default it is set on Sports+ mode (highest setting) upon arrival which I didn’t realize until I plugged it in & barely touch my 4Runner’s throttle then it flew to nearly 25mph up my driveway & into my house. No joke, I was literally dumbfounded for a solid 3 minutes thinking how the Hell did this tiny thing make my Brick with wheels feel like a sports car?!What I also loved about this product after driving with it for quite a few months now is its adjustability. Each of the levels have so many adjustment points that one can fine tune the throttle response to one’s taste. Imagine it, custom throttle response at your finger tips. No need to imagine it because this thing does just that! I’ll admit it took a good 2-3 weeks for me to fine tune it perfectly, but now I can’t imagine driving my 4Runner without this little gadget! With all these pros I need to address a HUGE con. MPG. It does have an eco and city mode to help save you gas by decreasing throttle response thus making your vehicle get more mileage at the cost of your car feeling more sluggish. While on the other spectrum you can set it to the more sporty modes which will greatly increase the “fun” factor and responsiveness of your throttle but can TANK your MPG if you have a heavy foot.Personally, I choose the Sports mode (1 below sports+) which doesn’t give great mpg but makes my driving experience so much more enjoyable, so if I gotta fork out a bit more $$ on gas for more fun during my commutes then so be it.

Make it a priority purchase.
Originally I purchased this because I heard about this from a YouTube related to this product and my truck. Definitely go a do your research. I had heard about it from and acquaintance but thought it was only for diesel trucks.Make sure the one your purchasing is for your make and model. Setup is a very easy. Easy to instal, easy to remove if you have a warranty call. Dealer so far does not have an issue with this mod. When I bought my original thought was to improve responsiveness. It definitely improved responsiveness. WOW! This brings the truck to life. Numerous options such as city, sport, and sport plus. Each level is unique and worth it. Sport plus makes my Tundra a whole new animal. Owners of this can control from the device in the car or through an app. Both are very easy to use. Read the directions and watch some YouTube. Little Easter eggs with this device. Now the interesting part, Eco mode. I originally was thinking I would not really use except for long trips. It makes the acceleration feel like the truck is loaded. After driving quite a bit with this, I’m really liking the ECO mode. Saving 3 miles per gallon so far over 2,500 miles. It works for me in bumper to bumper.Bottom line, try all the modes and all of the settings. This is not a mod to change performance, only throttle control. Big difference! Buy a Cold Air Intake filter if your looking to improve performance among other great mods. Get this to have way way better throttle response or options.Smiles per miles!

Thing is no JOKE!
Installed on a 2018 4Runner TRD Pro Premium. Installation was pretty easy, but it took me maybe 25 or 30 minutes. Nobody mentions it’s a little difficult to get the adapter off the connector to the gas peddle. Doing it by hand is near impossible. I took a flat head screwdriver and placed it on the right side of the connector laying it flat just under the bottom edge. I slowly turned the screwdriver so it was vertical, that did the trick, it popped right off. I ran the wire through the slot under the stirring wheel level adjuster. Then mounted it on the right of the steering wheel (note:do this before you connect it to the gas peddle or you’ll have to pop it off again). How it performs: Its ridiculous! I run it on city +2 or +3 and get better gas mileage than stock. This mode also gives me all the power I need. Eco is pretty sluggish but you get great MPG (It’s less throttle/response than stock for sure) Sport and Sport plus are insane. As others have stated, you barely hit the peddle and you’re gone.I know this doesn’t increase HP, but man, it definitely tricks you into thinking it does.I have this paired with a CatBack Magnaflow Exhaust. My only concern or negative is taking it into the dealership. The instruction book tells you to just turn it off for routine maintenance but if you need to have an issue isolated it recommends removing it. Makes me wonder if there is any warranty issues. However, I’ll just remove it. Installation was not too bad!I just filled up my tank to head from San Diego CA to Big Bear CA and back. I was in city plus 2 and I pulled 18.8 mpg. The thing is impressive. Extremely happy with my purchase. Now I’m wondering what I would have pulled in eco mode!
