True Dual 1440p Monitor Support
This is an excellent product! It's one of the very few (or only?) on the market I'm aware of that actually allocates all 4 high-speed USB-C channels to DisplayPort/HDMI, enabling the maximum video bandwidth possible. It's enough to drive dual 2k (2560x1440) monitors at 75Hz.Other USB-C hubs only use half of the available USB-C bandwidth for video, reserving other channels for USB 3.0 high-speed ports and gigabit ethernet, on the hub. The Cable Matters hub, by contrast, uses ALL high speed bandwidth for video, and therefore only provides USB 2.0 ports and 100Mbit ethernet on the hub. This is better for anyone who wants to run dual displays at resolutions higher than 1080p -- other hubs can only run dual displays at 1080p. (They, of course, don't tell you that -- instead they will claim "4k @ 30Hz" -- but what they don't tell you is only ONE display can be driven at that resolution, not two.)Also, Cable Matters customer support is excellent. When I first bought this hub, I had some compatibility issues with my Chromebook, where it wouldn't behave reliably. They worked with me in an attempt to figure out the issue, even sending another hub to see if I might've received a defective one. Eventually, a Chrome OS update actually solved it - Cable Matters went above & beyond even when their product wasn't to blame.Highly recommend.

4k Works better than advertised, yet a little glitchy... good buy (while it lasted)
Nice while it lasted... I had been using it with a Thinkpad p52s for a few months running two 21.5" 1080p displays and an external keyboard. This week I had it disconnect a couple times and I had to restart to get it to recongize the dock again... sometimes it would recognize as thunderbolt... others just as usb-c... but the little blue light went out as did all functionality today. RIP. Its Dead Jim.First my hardware - Yoga 720 15", 4k, gtx1050, 2 channel thunderbolt 3 port, asus mg24uq 4k gaming monitor, acer 23" touch screen 1080p monitor.I plugged it in with the unit off (replacing my current usb-c to hdmi adapter... and turned on the computer. All that worked was the HDMI, no usb, etc. I then rebooted with it disconnected and plugged it in by itself so windows could find everything and configure it.After getting it working with my mouse / keyboard, I plugged in the 4k monitor... it recognized it and everything works fine with an external 4k monitor. No glitches, 59hz on both the internal 4k and asus 4k montior. Exactly what I was hoping. If i let windows turn off the screens... and hit a key to bring them back... everything still works fine... if i let the computer sleep then bring it out of sleep... everything works fine. still 4k 59hz on both monitors without issue. So then I tried plugging in the Acer montior... and behold... it was recognized and everything worked fine... internal 4k, asus 4k and acer 1080p all running at 59hz. No glitchy graphics, everything runs smooth and works better than expected (with dual displays I was especting to lose the 59hz refresh rate, I didn't).But... all is not perfect... if you let windows turn off the screens or go to sleep... when you restore... they will come back... but it tends to rearrange the position of the monitors... and the 4k montior comes back as a 1080p monitor, with nothing in settings to get it back to 4k. If you reboot... they come back how you had them configured and working before sleep... with both 4k and the 1080p at 59hz.So... if you don't let your PC sleep or the screen turn off... you can get internal 4k + external 4k + 1080p all at 59hz. Which is better than the specs. I'm guessing two lesser resolution monitors would come back from sleep fine... although the flipping position thing has been experienced by others so that may still be present.I'm not using power delivery as the Yoga 720 with its 1050 uses a lot more than 60w and has its own power port separate from the usb-c... but cutting it down to power+tb3 to connect/disconnect is great.Quite pleased with this product, I would recommend to others... giving it 4 out of 5 stars due to the monitors flipping position in sleep. I would have gladly traded the ethernet port for another USB, no use for wired networking in my config.

It just works
Lot of sketchy or glitchy USB-C hubs out there that don't fully support the protocol or just are not well designed products. This one just works. Either with my Note 9 for Dex (USB-C), my HP laptop (TB3) or any other device compatible with this type of adapter, it just works. My laptop has an issue with every dock I've tried where it doesn't recognize USB ports or connected external monitors 75% of the time without disconnecting and reconnecting a dozen times. This device works correctly about 90% of the time and when it doesn't, I only have to disconnect the external power supply (my laptops) from it and it works fine. This is a fault of my laptop, not this adapter. If you don't need Thunderbolt speeds outward from this adapter, you'll be perfectly happy with it. It's perfect for travel and as a static device. I have two and use one at my desk as a dock and travel with the other. With my Note 9 with Dex, I don't even need to bring a computer with me, if I don't want as long as I have a monitor and kb/mouse at my destination.Con: Rubberized cover is bulky and not all that necessary. Luckily it is easily removable.

Great…. For a few months.
Worked great for a few months & liked that the size helped with space on my desk. However, after 6 months of using it for my two monitors I started receiving error notices when connecting my laptop to the hub & saying that the other monitors were not recognized. I attempted to change out the power cords, using different outlets, resting my computer, & have determined with my IT department that it must be from the hub & not allowing for a connection, as if the hub “burnt out”.
