This does not come with directions so hopefully you are familiar with the product and know how to use it. Add it as a preservative after you've melted everything and it's cooling down. The amount you use depends on your product and ingredients and there are no instructions or guidelines for that either.

I'm a DIY enthusiast and ordered this to help extend the shelf life of my products. I was excited when this arrived and opened it to smell it. The smell is pleasant and not overpowering. I placed some of this oil on my hand BEFORE reading the instructions on the bottle and unfortunately all of the words with information about the product and directions are smeared off. Bummer!! Now I have to refer to the link or YouTube for instructions since the only instructions were on the bottle.

I love to make my own lip products, lotions, and soaps. When you make your own lotion, or creams, you need to add a small amount of preservative to keep your lotions, and creams, healthy and without mold growth. What’s nice about this preservative is that you only need a small amount to take care of the job. Then I feel safe when giving away my lotions, and creams, to friends and relatives.The ingredients are broad spectrum, and natural. It is a rather small bottle, and the price isn’t cheap, but if you want a safe product to use yourself, or for friends and family, you definitely need to add this step. You won’t regret it, and you will probably even feel relieved knowing that you are doing the right thing in taking care of your homemade products. And what’s nice about this preservative is that it has a long shelf life of its own.

This preservative has worked well in my skincare and haircare formulations. I ordered it because my skin is very sensitive and can't tolerate parabens or perfumes so I make several of my own products. This is also a reasonable price for this preservative, and there is enough product to make hundreds of recipes.

I use this in homemade balms and lotions and I think it will help keep bacteria from growing in it.Due to ph level, most of my homemade soaps won't need it, but I may try it in my next batch of shampoo and conditioner if the pH level seems appropriate.I'm always worried about bacteria growing in it and then getting it in my eyes when I wash my hair.
