Alpha 1080X Solar Street Light Motion Sensor 3-Mode Street Lamp Dusk to Dawn Dimmable Waterproof Max Pole Diameter 3", Warm White 2800K LED

I am going through and doing some reviews on devices that I really liked and this is one of them I bought this just over 6 years ago and live in oregon. Oregon is not the greatest place for solar lights as thay tend to not hold up well and this one definitely holds up it is 6 years old and I installed it on a pushup flagpole at end of driveway to light up our gate and it lasts all night even though a wild fire. During the wild fire in 2020 we had no sunlight for about a week and surprisingly it lasted about 5 days before the battery finally depleted and stopped working. It lasted long past all the other lights. Whenever this thing finally doesn't work anymore I hope I will be still able to buy another and at this price point it's hard to beat.

Last one lasted 8 years, and still half works. Hope I get the same out of the new one I just got.Highly recommend.

Nice light, plenty bright and sensitive in motion detection mode.The light stays on for only 30 seconds in motion detection mode.I'd like it better if it stayed on for a couple of minutes, or at least a minute, each time its tripped.

Received my 1080x. Also purchased a 2080X, but package was damaged, and box empty. -(Shipping issue NOT seller issue and is being addresses promptly!)First Impressions:- Well built, NO PLASTIC- all metal housing and brackets.- Has some weight to it, due to large solar panel and battery. (but not overly heavy as some imply/complain here)- Straight Forward design and mounting brackets.- Fully assembled- ready to go upon receiving it.- easy mounting - if you cant lift this and mount it alone, you need to cancel your prime membership and get a gym membership :-) It took me 15 minutes to get this unit installed. No help needed.Mounted it on a flag pole, approx 18" high in my front yard.I am using Dim/Bright mode (motion detection) as i believe this gives the best performance and doesn't waste battery when less light is needed.On low light- light is adequate- about what you would get from a typical front AC porch light. I could probably get away with just using this mode, as like i state, it is adequate... BUT...On High Power (ie motion detected) this thing BLASTS light out! When under the light and approx 15-20 feet around it, it is almost like daylight! The area is well lit and is pretty impressive seeing this is a solar light. My front yard is awash in light, brighter near unit, less so around edges farther away, but still more than adequate. (approx 50')The PIR is pretty sensitive, and picks up passing cars at times, so i may need to block a small portion of the PIR if this becomes an issue- although my home is well lit and now stands out from my neighbors when driving by.I have 4 other Solar lights from this seller- ALL 4 are about 3 years old and are still going strong- like they did day one.3 units are out in Northeast US Shoreline weather 24/7 365. (1 is for camping) Haven't had to replace the batteries yet!At this time, the unit is a definite buy! One time purchase- no electric bills.Looking forward to receive my 2080X- as it is even brighter than the 1080X!I will update this review, as i have done my other purchases from this seller.

This is an amazing light! I was only planning on buying one but now I have ordered a total of three and may possibly get a fourth one for full coverage where I need it. I have bought other cheaper solar lights in the past which performed well but they are nothing compared to this one. This light is a bit expensive than I would normally be willing to pay for a solar light but here is why I decided to just give one a try initially. Cheap solar lights I had in the past had built in batteries which quickly wore down after cold weather and they were too dim. These lights have the option to have the battery replaced, and offer very bright illumination and good coverage. The solar charge lasts extremely well, I have not had a single day since I bought these lights that I have experienced the battery being drained. I use these lights in the blue mode which is dim from dusk to dawn and then full illumination on motion. I would highly recommend this light and I have also told a few friends of mine to get it. The only thing stopping some people from buying this is the price. But its extremely well built and very slim and modern looking. I do have to say that the pole mounting hardware is not that great like the other reviews state, but it works. For pole mounting you have a bracket that goes behind the pole and your light fixture is in the front, two two things are joined by a threaded bolt and nut with washers. The problem is with the bracket that goes behind, it bends easily when tightening. I wish this bracket was made of a stronger material. You will have less trouble with it on a larger diameter pole. I have the lights mounted on a 2-3/8" pole. I also wish this light came in a black finish, but it's easy enough to paint. As far as illumination goes, I think 9 - 13 feet seems to be the sweet spot for great coverage and intensity. I also wish the lights could be warmer like on the 2800K - 4000k light temperature, but they seem to be around 6000K.
