The Lincoln Zoo Rebellion

I absolutely loved this book and think that it would be an incredible movie! The descriptions are very visual which make me feel as if I am in each scene. The characters are easy to get behind and I love that the dialogue can be very witty as well. It is really nice to have an action-packed book that is so enjoyable to read. I loved it and I recommend no matter what age you are.

The Lincoln Zoo Rebellion is a wonderful book for kids of all ages. A clever, fanciful and quite serious tale about the plight of endangered animals plucked from their natural habitats halfway around the world and caged in a Midwestern zoo to satisfy the corporate greed of the town’s corrupt mayor. When the beloved, long term zookeeper, who has learned to communicate with the animals over the years and gained their trust, is involuntarily retired so the mayor and his flunkies can turn the zoo into a theme park, the animals and all the youngsters in town revolt and lockdown the zoo. With help from an intrepid local news reporter, the Governor intervenes to finally save the day. What an enjoyable vehicle to teach young folks empathy, compassion and civic responsibility, while educating them about so many disappearing species and their importance to our culture and history.
