So comfortable that I feel like I’m using it wrong.
I bought a nice looking but non-ergonomic office chair at the beginning of the pandemic. After two years of sitting in it for 8-12 hours a day, my back and posture were in poor shape. After seeing an ad on Instagram for this chair, I bought it on a whim, fully expecting to return it. I am now trying to figure out how to get rid of my old office chair.Ease of Assembly: I’m really not sure what other reviewers are talking about when they say it’s difficult to put together. It took me about 20 minutes and I didn’t need any tools other than the Allen wrench it comes with. It’s easier than putting most Ikea furniture together. There’s a YouTube video about assembly if you’re confused. Also, I am only 5’1, so I took the creator’s advice and put the seat cushion on backwards so my legs can reach the knee pads. The space is perfect for me. 5 stars.Pain Relief: My back was cramping during assembly because I had just worked 10 hours in my old chair. The second I sat on this chair, the pressure in my lower back was relieved. It’s so comfortable that I had to look at pictures and videos of people sitting on it because I thought I was using it incorrectly. Turns out it’s just a great chair! 5 stars.Ergonomics: Its a little higher than I normally sit, so I thought it might not work with my desk. I have an Ikea MALM desk and my hips sit just below the desktop. If I scoot in closer, my tummy pouch would be against the desk. However, I would recommend a fairly high monitor riser since your eye level may be much higher than it was before. Because I’m so high, I thought typing would be uncomfortable, but this angle actually relieves the pressure I was putting on my forearms/wrists.I was tempted to get the Tokyo chair because I thought I would need the backrest. I’m glad I went with the Austin because it looks much nicer in the home and I don’t feel the need for a backrest at all! Another 5 stars!TL;DR: 5 stars. Easy to assemble, relieves back pain almost immediately, relieves pressure on forearms/hands when typing. Generally cute and awesome. When I return to the office, I’ll bring my chair along with me.

Easier to set up than other reviews had me thinking
I knew I wanted a kneeling chair, and I spent about a week doing my research into the different brands and models before I landed on this one. My priorities were comfort, affordability, durability, and aesthetic design. There are a slew of terrible reviews here on Amazon about the set-up of this chair, so that had me biting my nails as I hit "add to cart". Fortunately, I had a much easier time than others seem to have had! My package arrived 54 minutes ago, and I just finished putting it together and am sitting on the chair as I type. Here's the breakdown:Set-up: 3/5. I would recommend to Sleekform that they re-write their set-up sheet, as it was often unclear which direction to place objects. (I'm still not sure if the knee pads are supposed to splay in or out, but they're comfortable splaying out for now, so I'm going to leave them.) However, all my assembly items did arrive in the correct number and quality and with the correct holes drilled, which seems to be something others did not experience. It did take me a while to put together the chair, but that's not an insurmountable obstacle for me.Quality: 4/5. Others have commented on the "wobbliness" of the chair; I'll concur with them there. I screwed each screw in securely, but the lack of front bar (near the knees) makes this seem a little unstable if put my weight on one knee pad to get up out of the chair. I do hope it'll be fine in the long run though; it's nice to have a little "give" in the wood. I do wish the wood was available in other stains but birch - I'm going to have to figure out if I can stain it to match the acorn-colored wood of the rest of my office. Similarly, I don't like the black fabric - it's quite scratchy. After watching a few youtube videos about reupholstering chair cushions, I think I'm going to try doing that with a durable velvet that's easier on the knees and thighs.Comfort: 5/5. Yep, I think this chair and I are going to get along fine. I hate sitting - I'm a teacher who spends all day on her feet - and when I have to do so for more than a couple hours at a time my lower back HATES me. Quarantine has necessitated a lot more sitting than my job usually entails, so I'm extremely glad to have this chair. I'm effortlessly sitting with my spine comfortably aligned, and can feel the tension releasing in my lower back and shoulders. It's great. I'm glad I got this chair.
