We bought these toner cartridges when we realized we could buy them and a new printer for the price of the official Canon toner cartridges. Our reasoning was, "These are so much less expensive than the official cartridges, if we install them and they ruin our printer, then we can replace the printer and we still will have spent less."I'm not sure yet if we'll have to replace our printer, but the cartridges don't appear to be working out.We don't use our printer very frequently. That's worth noting, because the first day or two after we installed these cartridges, they seemed to work great. But after a month or two, each page we print is covered with blotches and even some dark lines. It seems likely those are artifacts from the cartridges leaking toner on the pages and/or rollers. I can't tell whether the poor print quality is a function of time or of use (or a combination of the two). If it's just a function of time, it's possible that a higher-use printer could have drained the toner from these cartridges before they began to leak. But that doesn't seem very likely.At the end of the day, these were a cost decision: we decided it was worth the risk to buy the cheaper toner, even if it potentially could ruin the printer. We appear to have gotten what we paid for: while they are significantly less expensive, the print quality just isn't there. We've printed less than 500 pages since installing them, and the quality is decreasing pretty steadily. We're already at the point that I wouldn't print out a document for someone else to read. That pretty much defeats the purpose of a printer.I wouldn't recommend these toner cartridges. Yes, they're less expensive, but if they don't do the job, there's not a lot of point in buying them.
