Q: Was the tea bag in the bottle normal? I'm sure I see one review elsewhere on this item so widnered if it's to keep it free of mould but worried to use

The water bottle has to pass the closed water test when it leaves the factory, and there will be residual water in it.Tea bags can keep water bottles dry and remove odor，Tea bags are not edible.

Q: Ive bought this and used for an 18 mile run. Comfy. Only issue is i cant fit the 500ml bottle in any front pocket. Has anyone else had this issue.

It is certainly on the smaller side re. Pockets. I find it is good for the shorter endurance events 15-30 miles. Although I personally like it I suggest paying a bit more for one that can accept larger bottles - worth checking reviews I.e. Wildginger running on you tube.
