Previously, I used a synthetic spermidine (Spermidine trihydrochloride) until I found this product--which is made from fermented wheat germ. Its potency is much higher because I only need to take one capsule vs. six (!) tablets from the synthetic to get the same dose of spermidine. It's not even close. Liposomal coating means that these capsules will survive stomach acid to deliver the dosage where it can be absorbed.It's also quite nice that these supplements come as a two-pack, which means I know to re-order when I open up the second bottle.Spermidine is said to make the body think it's in a reduced calorie mode, promoting autophagy or removal of damaged cells and proteins. It is thought to reduce inflammation, promote liver function, and improve cognitive functions. Be aware that this product is WHEAT GERM EXTRACT! And therefore it has gluten in it. I am sensitive to wheat and gluten. The front of the bottle shows in large letters that this is SPERMIDINE. So I made a mistake by not reading the fine print on the front and on the labe about the wheat germ extractl. It really is wheat germ extract.! And then some spermidine can come from that. But if you have any sensitivity or intolerance (or worse) to wheat or gluten. please don't make the mistake I did. I tried to find the company's website and it doesn't appear to exist.
