Not perfect, but doesn't need to be.
I hade upgraded my laptop to a 2TB drive, but needed somewhere to place the original 256GB SSD. This case is perfect for that purpose. its fairly rugged, however there is no gasket in this guy, so I would not dunk this in water. The bumper case is perfect for protecting it when you inevitably drop it. The integrated cable into the carabiner is nice, however don't expect to use it like a carabiner. there is not enough friction to keep the cable from coming loose. I would also be wary of this part as I do not know how long it will last. For the important parts of connecting this to my desktop. I don't have any issues. Transfer speeds are slower than an actual thunderbolt device, but works well for transferring a lot of small files. Don't get an expensive drive for this guy, the 10GBs is only going to really max out at 1000mb/s, 2000mb/s if you are lucky. so any NVME that is faster than 2gb/s is not going to see an appreciable speed difference.Overall it does what it needs to do and nothing else. perfect for my needs.

This thing is great!
It fits a 2230 nvme, the color is awesome, the bumper 'case' is a great addition, the included cable is nice, and it seems to keep the drive relatively cool. The build quality feels good, and its all easy to use. seems like a good value to me. And MOST importantly, it works. I got one from another company that got super hot and would drop the connection to my pc in the middle of a file transfer. That's not what you want in a disk of any kind. This one on the other hand, has been great!!!

Finished out the collection of available colors of these square half-length USB SSD Enclosures
Finished out the collection of available colors of these square half-length USB SSD Enclosures. This color green is among my favorite of the 6 colors available. This one is as good a quality technically with the proper sized included screwdriver to fasten your SSD securely as the others so that's good. I don't know that I needed to collect all six colors, but I've always done things like that. Eventually I reckon I'll even have SSDs installed in all 6 enclosures, lol.

A bit expensive, but unique.
Works, very fast transfer rates, main complaint is that this empty case costs as much as actual external storage devices with media.. Secondaty complaint is that it is not very water resistant. Final complaint is that the thermal pad provided is not thick enough to make contact with the aluminum housing. That said, the construction quality is nice, and it was perfect for upcycling my old 256gb Steam Deck ssd after upgrading.

Very compact and easy to use.
I replaced my ROG Ally drive with a larger capacity, so I had a 512gb 2230 m2 drive sitting around and wanted something to do with it. This case is easy to use and provides a small, durable external drive. Not sure how widely people need a 2230 case, but if you need it, this one is great. Transfer speed with the included cable is excellent.

stripped housing screws.
The read and write speeds are excellent with this housing, but the QC isnt so great. At first glance all was good. The silicone shell is nicely made. The aluminum housing has a slight heft to it. It just feels good. It has an included usb-c to usb-c cable. When i got to opening it up to put my ssd in i noticed one of the case screws was about to fall out. I just figured it was put in all the way from the factory. I installed my ssd and started putting the cover back on, when i got to that final screw (4 in total) it just fell in the hole. I took it apart to see and the thread were stripped. Aside from low standards on QC this housing works really well.

Works well, but not super value. But if you need it, it does what it says
I had a dead laptop with a 2230 SSD in it, so I got this to reuse that drive as a portable one. It works fine. The drive installed easily, but as others have noted, the thermal pad doesn't really fit right. I'm not doing massive file work on it, so the thermals haven't been any issue. It's handy to have the included USB cable, but I also have to carry an A to C cable since most of my machines (at work) are older and don't have C built in.For the cost though, you're probably better off buying a USB flash drive, unless you really need faster performance or have a 2230 drive lying around.
