Favourite book of of the month
When I first read this book last night I initially gave it 4 stars. However when I woke up this morning with the book still on my mind after finding the bonus epilogue, it’s definitely a 5 star.I really loved the blossoming romance between cam and Rory and it’s really nice to watch that develop, and not have them fall straight in love.Cameron is an amazing character and he’s protective nature and caring personality suit him well. I’m all for being a strong and independent woman until the work “your mine” or “you belong to me” and that goes out of the window.Aurora is the athlete in this book and it’s nice to see an author right a book from the other perspective. We get to see a little bit of what girls like her have to go through especially with characters like Brad, and whilst scenes like that aren’t nice to read in general, Charlie Jean made you understand how Rory was feeling and i think that’s hard to do at times. One of my favourite things about this book is that both characters till got to carry on their dreams, as well as falling in love. People think relationships stop people being able to chase dreams or develop, this book proves that if you want each other that much you will make it work.I think this has easily become one of my top 5 books. I loved the writing, the characters were incredible and the plot was enjoyable as well.5 stars for you 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

A super sweet, friends to lovers story
I can’t believe I’m back again, writing another review for one of Carlie's novels! I want to start off by saying that the growth in Carlie's writing is a truly remarkable; I felt like I was wrapped in a cosy blanket of all the sweet and incredibly spicy moments of Aurora and Cameron's story. I loved the dynamic of Aurora's confidence and Cameron's caring nature.Promise Me, follows Aurora Vallacourt, who lives and breathes playing volleyball, and one day hopes to compete in the Olympics for Team USA. Unfortunately, her grades are slipping and if she fails, she could jeopardise her position on the volleyball team, thus her dreams of playing professionally, and so is instructed to get a tutor to help with her grades.Enter Cameron Fields, the quiet, computer expert, who has been assigned to help Aurora with her grades. The only problem is that she is everything in the form of a tempting distraction, which is everything that Cameron doesn't need, especially when he's supporting his mother and younger sister. The two are forced to spend time with one another, and Cameron realises that he has misjudged the confident girl that everyone knows about, and the two form a truce... with benefits, and let's just say, the quiet ones are always one to watch. Do not be mistaken though, this is a slow burn, but it is burning!Thank you to Greys Promo and Carlie Jean for the arc opportunity, this is my honest review.

Loved the role reversal between the player and the nerd/the jock and the tutor.
Aurora is strong, funny and determined to make it to the Olympics when she meets Cameron, Cam’s sweet, protective and a caregiver at heart so he finds it hard to keep Aurora away till they become friends and then the lines get blurred. These two were absolutely perfect for each other and i enjoyed reading about them and the side characters, which i hope get their own books.Aurora is done with hook ups it’s time to go celibate and put all her time and effort into volleyball and her grades. After Aurora’s grades dip her dad, the dean, sets up a tutor to get her grades back where they need to be to carry on playing. Aurora knows from the first meeting with her tutor that he’s going to be a distraction as he’s everything she could want in a guy, if she were looking. The tutor comes across rude at their first meeting so Aurora decides to push his buttons and tease him till he lightens up but that just makes her want him more.Cam is a computer science student and tutors around his studies and work. Cam hasn’t given any time to thoughts of dating or females in general as he’s got a plan and is looking to land a job opportunity. Cam’s next tutor student is someone who’s well known around campus not only as the deans daughter but the volleyball star so he has some preconceived ideas about the type of person she is and is shocked to find that’s she’s not at all how he perceived her to be. After coming off rude after their first interaction Cam decides to try a little harder to take her at face value but with every session he’s finding it hard not notice all the good qualities she has. Cam’s sweet and protective side doesn’t take long to come out but how long can Cam keep his feelings at bay.Why have I not read anything by Carlie Jean before, such a fantastic intro into what i’m going to assume is a great series to come.
