Not aluminum, cheap plastic hood scoop
I was really disappointed that the hood scoop wasn't aluminum as the description stated. It was poorly assembled and plastic. I did receive a full refund, but was highly disappointed I couldn't get the product that was listed. Bait and switch, false advertisement.

Hummer H1 Hood Scoop
I guess I was expecting more from this inexpensive hood scoop, and it probably deserves closer to 2 stars, but I was being kind. After installing it I ran into another Hummer owner and he was telling me about someone he knew who had a hood scoop with a similar design. Except that this other hood scoop was metal and very well built. This one is either a heavy plastic or some other inexpensive material. That doesn't bother me as much as the overall quality. It's somewhat warped so doesn't lay flat. In fact, it seems like it's actually lifting on the corners and looking worse than when I originally installed it. Secondly, it didn't have any predrilled mounting holes. But again, that's not the problem. The problem is that it's just a bit smaller than the original, so drilling the necessary holes on the edge (3 on top and 3 on the bottom) can't really be done because there isn't enough room. I drilled the 3 bottom holes, which worked out okay, but then there wasn't enough room to drill the top 3 holes on the upper edge. I basically had to drill slots on the edge to align with the mounting holes on the hood. There really needed to be at least another half inch all around this hood scope to allow for better mounting. And maybe the warping of the scoop is what caused the problem. But I think it's just a tad too small. Now, the aspect of it that I have yet to test thoroughly, is the function. I need to see if it actually works and provides more airflow to the radiator (which is why I bought it).
