Good
I would say this is a decent tool to add to the collection. A lot of people go back-and-forth on whether it’s good or not but I would say it’s functionality is good and it’s price is decent.

THIS IS NOT A TRACKER
This should be marketed as an inventory/tool identifier DOES NOT SHOW LAST ADDRESS DOES NOT TRACK it will only show the last worksite you have it saved under. It has a light that lights up to identify a specific tool if you have multiple of the same tool, waste of money

Tool connect
Works like it’s suppose to. Not sure how long the battery will last.

This is a tracking tool
This tool or attachment is geared towards contractors. Or very forgetful people, or very nice neighbors who lend out their tools. This is also very tool specific, if your tool has the "slot" for this to fit into it.This has to be used with the dewalt app and with this specific piece, you need to download an additional app called "site manager" through dewalt. With the other Bluetooth tools from dewalt you can use the "tool control" app. This attachment is not geared or targeted towards DIY weekends warriors, this is geared towards contractors and people who frequently lend out their tools and want to keep track of their tools. It works as intended, for its price it is worth it.

it is difficult to pair but i just uploaded a video about how to do it
The media could not be loaded. there is no speaker in the tracker just an useless light, that will help you to find it, good luck with thatthis is what happens when designers don't know what they are doing

Useless
Honestly the idea of being able to track a tool was a must , the real slick design looks good and having a slot on your tool for it even better but this was poorly executed, the app sucks , just keep it real simple and let me find the location on my tool , dewalt needs to do better and hit up ether tile or apple and get some help with this trackers , getting tools stolen from the worksite sucks . I would pay premium money for a tracker integrated into my tool, I could easily slap an air tag on it but it would look stupid .. combine both apple/tile tracking ability’s and dewalt tool connect visual appearance chip. This has so much potential please make it happen .. as for how this chip is right now I would avoid

You can use this for inventory your tools
You can use this for inventory your tools and find whit Bluetooth but can't disable your tools remotely or check others parameters that only work in tools whit built-in chips

Pointless junk, good idea, executed so poorly. Man on the moon, but can't make this work.
If you got here after reading the tool connect website, you were sold a false narrative. Apps required to use it are terrible, buggy, and the tag quit working within an hour of finally setting up the tool. Connected to app put in tool. After fussing with the buggy apps it finally assigned, tried to use it later that day tag is bad? I don't know fussed with it for about another hour and gave up. It won't pair, light won't flash, there is no other feature than a blinking light? If this is a feature you are looking for this feature in a tool, great idea totally screwed up, maybe Milwaukee's system is better?
