I love Sprites, we own 4 of them for Halloween props and shows. They are versatile, but easy to use. By default you just stick a memory card in them and they'll start playing the files, on a loop, when turned on. 90% of the time, this is all that is needed/wanted and makes them extremely easy to control. Just have a timer that turns on power to the Sprite and display and the show starts up, no user input needed.However when more is needed, the Sprite is there to deliver. They are EXTREMELY configurable. Not just things like video resolution and so on, but what to play and how to play it. They also integrate great with show controllers, you can have them play different files based on different triggers being activated.They aren't cheap, and you can probably find a DVD player at a thrift store for a lot less and use that, but it is going to be a pain and the Sprite is just going to work.

I own 4 other of these units. Even though difficult to set up, when they work they are fun.The biggest problem is customer support, the fifth unit I purchased along with Hydra didn't work. I contacted customer support, they were no help and actually mocked me as too dumb. After returning the item for a replacement, I was charged a restocking fee when the problem was clearly on their poor quality and lack of customer support.NEVER AGAIN Mediawiz.

I use a number of players in my Halloween show. This is definitely my go to player. It is much more reliable and consistent than other players I've used. Great product.

I used this for an entire week at a trade show from 9-5 each day, and no problems. My major complaint is that you have to name files in a particular way to get them to play automatically like adding "000" to the beginning of the filename. And you might have to be careful with folder structure if memory serves me correctly. It's like this firmware was written back in the days of DOS when we used tricks like naming files a certain way to control how they're used. With a modern device like this, why aren't the playlists done through a graphical user interface and to specify which videos will automatically play on startup?

Just used 7 of these players on a project and they work great! 2 of the players are connected to a Hydra (also available from MedeaWiz) allowing us to trigger up to 200 videos on a single player! We have used video players from other manufactures but none can compete with the value, ease of setup and reliability of the Sprite players. The added features in this 4k version have improved the ease of setup and flexibility for various integration applications. 100% recommend!

I have been using the MediaWiz Sprite for over 5 years with no issues.The new 4k version is great. It playes high quality video and can be seamlessly triggered.We use these models in our escape room museum and they work flawlessly.I highly recommend this video player.Team Kinsley has outstanding customer support.He responds quickly but email and will even talk you through a problem on the phone.

This company used to sell these for $60 for the 1080p version. They have since discontinued it to force you to buy this version for $165.Not many competing products to choose from so I still was forced to get it, but just know the price increase is not justified, there's no value add over the 1080p version, particularly for Halloween enthusiasts who have no need for 4k.

The media could not be loaded. We are using the DV-S4 sprite connected to ceiling mounted projectors to project video on an escape room. These controllers do a great job. We did run into a couple of issues setting them up. Made a quick phone call to customer service and they answered all of our questions. Turns out we merely missed a setting. Quick resolution and exactly the results we were looking for. Will be purchasing more in the future!
