Just what my son was looking for. He is really into knifes/ sharpness.

Ok I’m changing my review I’ve used this strop more and I really like it I know everyone says the compound is like wax but that’s what makes it nice it goes on really well and grips the blade really diss as ls the edge in I didn’t like this one at first just because the leather seemed different than the French leather strop and the sharpal I those both and are great strops the hard part is finding the best compound anybody can throw a chunk of leather on a paddle the two I mentioned and this beavercraft are the best I’ve found

When you get into sharpening knives, especially when you start adding various stones, you quickly find that you will also need a good quality strop. Now from all reviews, kangaroo is the best, but they come with a higher cost. This one, although not kangaroo, it is high quality. Remember your grandfather, when sharpening his shaving blade, probably used his old-retired leather belt. Well, this isn't the belt but comes darn close. It comes with two (front and back) stropping pads. It is advised to get and apply some grit compound to not only help with sharpening but protect the pads. Just don't mix grits. Doing so will clog the fibers, and you will need an industrial size rubber eraser (available on the internet) to clean.Good wooden handle giving the strops a good bonding surface and provide ease of use. Although the strops probably, even with proper use, wear down, the surface is large enough that you can "glue" a replacement strop (leather, kangaroo, etc.) with excellent results.With proper use and proper use I expect this to be around for some time. Even with replacement strops. You will need one, eventually, and adding this strop to your sharpening inventory will not disappoint.

Tried it out, and my knife sharpened very well. The cut is precise.

I like the strop quite well, but they could offer a premium package that included a diamond particle stropping compound. The included stick stropping stick is not the optimum solution. I would have given it a five-star rating if they had offered a premium package with an ideal diamond strop treatment at higher cost.

The strop and provided sharpening compound allowed me to put a razor sharp edge on a run of the mill pearing knife (after honing with a sharpener) This little knife had never been this sharp. Great investment. Nothing more dangerous than a dull knife or frustrating.

Nicely Made, well pleased. The leather is course on one side and fine on other.
