Amazing book
Amazing Book. Lots of suspense. (Even if it took me six months to finish). It was worth it. Would definitely recommend.

My 36-year-old self loved it
The second half was quite thrilling and humorous. Even though there was plenty of room to apply the "Show, don't tell." principle in this amazing story, I found it tiring to read the "explanations" for that particular situation Alfie was in. I did enjoy the book anyway!

interesting story
I bought this for a class of 9-10 yr old children. It's on accelerated reader as book level 5.1 and has an accompanying quiz. Older children would enjoy it as well. I read it first to check it, and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Amazing!!
I absolutely loved this book because it is adventurous as well as heart-warming. It is written in the perspective of two boys, one who is a regular boy called Aiden, and the other who is 1,000 years old! Aiden meets his new next door neighbour, an outgoing girl called Roxy, after he moves house because of money problems. She takes him to a strange, bordered off house in the woods behind his back yard, where they see a 'witch' and her son. When a tragic event happens to the house, Alfie, the 1,000 year old boy, is found hiding in an unexpected place! Together, the threesome set off on a journey they will never forget, and they get in to a whole heap of trouble! I enjoyed this book and could not put it down... I even got told off once or twice because I would not help with anything! :-) I would definately recommend Ross Welford, and if you are looking for a similar author, I would recommend Lara Williamson. Brilliant book. BrIlliant Author. ;-)

1000 year old boy
This book is brilliant!!! It is very child-friendly and it is really funny. This book tells the story of a boy called Alfie Monk and he is over 1000 years old!!! Alfie embarks on a journey to live a normal life just like anyone else, but he does make friends along the way. I am going to warn you about some parts of this story are quite sad. Most people would think living forever would be brilliant but Alfie Monk has experienced it and he wouldn't agree. This is quite an adventurous and historical story, but some moments are really heartwarming. Overall I would recommend this book to 11-12 year olds.

Very Enjoyable, Funny Book.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, as I liked the fact that Alfie or Alve was over 1,000 years old. In the end, it all ends well for everyone, apart from Jasper I guess. I wonder how long he's been alive? It was really sad though that Alfie's mum kind of disappeared due to the fire. I use disappeared as I don't want to spoil too much. Also, since Aidan's Aunty Alice is now rich, and Alfie is Aidan's older brother, when he gets older, will he inherit everything? If you like books like these then they are totally for you!By Andrew (age 9) .
