This has made managing my home’s temperature much easier. The programming feature allows me to set different schedules for each day of the week, which is convenient for my routine. It’s straightforward to install and use. The controls are intuitive, making it simple to adjust settings.

Review for 70 Series, 7 Day Programmable, Heat Pump (2H/1C) Thermostat.We have had several Emerson heat pump thermostats over the years. They work well, and if you buy the same one as a backup, then you can just swap them out (without a hvac technician) on your own.The initial wiring diagram, if you haven't installed one of these before, can be tricky. But then replacing an existing thermostat with the same model is pretty easy.This model is pretty easy to initially set up and program. Just follow the chart in the instruction booklet. (Use their recommended presets, as those work well.)I ordered this one as my back-up thermostat, as the newer thermostats (all brands) don't seem to last as long as the old ones did. In the "olden days," thermostats rarely went out. Now with all of the more advanced circuit boards in the new thermostats, thermostats don't last as long, and we wind up replacing them every 5 to 10 years. Thus, I ordered this as a backup thermostat to keep on hand, to ensure that I had the same model available when the newest one goes out. While you can program this thermostat for different temperature settings during different days of the week, we don't need that feature, as someone is always home. You don't have to actually set the programmable part when using this thermostat. However, it is a nice feature.

Looking forward to installing this thermostat in my basement. Looks like it has some good features, but I really can't say until I receive it. Will update review when I receive and install product.

The instructions are specifically intended for HVAC installers. Even the box is unsealed, unlike the stuff you'll find in a hardware store that is intended for consumers. I resorted to watching some How-Tos on YouTube to ensure I did things correctly.That said, this is a very good manual-programmable basic unit. Emerson has been around for decades and makes very good products. 5-year U.S. warranty.Easy to program.Recommended at the $50 price.My rating system:5 Stars = Knocks it out of the park. I just received this item today, and it is already installed!Installation took less than 15 minutes, and everything seems to work perfectly.I had wanted a programmable thermostat for years, but my HVAC guy said they aren't suitable for heat pumps. I don't know why he said that - all the condos in my neighborhood have heat pumps, and many of them have programmable thermostats, so I was happy to see this one, designated for use with heat pumps.My electric supplier recently switched to different rate plans, and electricity is 10 times more expensive between 4 and 8 pm. It was so inconvenient to remember to manually turn it down every evening at 4, so this should help do that without any inconvenience!The programming function is easy and intuitive.The display is lit and easy to read.I'm pleased, and it should help to keep the electricity costs lower.With ever increasing rates, everyone needs to have a programmable thermostat to help control costs, and this one seems to be a good option!
