The National Security Agency is a covert organisation whose secret activities are protected by a state-of-the-art surveillance network operated by a team of first-rank techno-boffins. When a videotape proving their involvement in a recent political assassination falls into the hands of Washington DA Robert Clayton Dean (Will Smith), the Agency do everything they can to encourage Dean's silence. But Dean is determined to reveal the truth, and teaming up with veteran anti-establishment surveillance expert Edward Lyle (Gene Hackman), he decides to play the government spies at their own game.

Exciting fast paced movie
This is the GermaSpecial Edition DVD of the Will Smith movie 'Enemy of the State' and is one of the few Simpson/Bruckheimer films that I like, and I think because the characterisations are a little more real than perhaps in past movies and director Tony Scott keeps the whole thing moving fast with Smith and Hackman working well together. This DVD has audio in German, English and Italian with subtitles in these languages as well as French and Spanish. Two documentaries, a deleted scenes section and a trailer

Excellent movie
Gene Hackman and Will Smith are outstanding Fantastic movie especially the end when Gene Hackmans character walks away in the rain with his cat dressed as a policeman 10 out of 10 in my book 👍

one of my favourite films
Such a well-made fast paced film. I remember being blown away by it many years ago and so wanted to have it in my collection and boy it was even better than i remembered. Good price and no flaws in the dvd.

ENEMY....EXTENDED EDITION DVD
Excellent transfer. Ratio 2.35:1, good clear picture, sound and subtitles. Talk about Non-Stop action! A few explanatory dialogue scenes, but mostly a huge chase film with the bad guys after Will and Gene all over Washington, including some very dangerous looking stunts in the middle of fast moving traffic. The plot is well written and can be followed easily, whilst retaining a bit of mystery. Smith is terrific and holds his own with the magnetic Hackman (who doesn't appear til the 60 minute mark). Jon Voight has found his second wind as a really badass villain, and the heavies are great fun - Jake Busey/Scott Caan, and our own Ian Hart looking a bit out of place. Jack Black scores heavily as one of the Tech guys on the wrong side! Talking of the plot - it's all about covert surveillance - Then (1998) - What now??? A puzzle to me is the UNBILLED performences from Jason Robards Jnr., and more surprisingly, Tom Sizemore as a vicious Mob boss, who plays an important role in the plot. I know he had many problems in life, but I'd love to know why I had to go to IMDP and find his name right at the bottom of "uncredited in alphabetical order"

Fantastic
I saw this film many years ago and had forgotten just how good it is. Having recently purchased the "French Connection" Bluray discs, I thought this was due for a re-visit. It was well worth it, not just for the chase scenes but for the darker story of the ever-watching State.
