Makita DUR193z works perfectly
Bought a gtech strimmer last year that fell to bits internally after a seasons use. Decided to buy one of the best makes from experience. So already had batteries and charger. Makita 'strimmer' delivered quickly and simply put together. Slid on battery and tried. Wow, can you feel the difference. Lots more power, oozes quality and most importantly cut the grass round the trees and along the wall. I should have known better and not purchased a toy before. Finally it is made in Germany not China, says it all.

Lightweight unit.
Nice unit ,works well and quite lightweight and no power cord to pull around , never had a strimmer where the cut line feeds through when you tap it on the ground and this one is just the same so pull I it through manually.

Quiet, reasonable battery life.
Hesitated for ages on this, and seriously thought of getting one of the cheaper ones, but have been impressed with this. use it for trimming paths and for weeds in paving block driveway. much quieter than our Black and Decker one, and 4amp battery lasted easily. Replacement reels a bit expensive, but hopefully will string line will last. Have several Makita batteries so made sense to stick to brand.
