I was surprised at the size of this jar - it’s bigger than a typical jar of moisturizer, except for my trusty CerVe. I ordered this Emma Hardie Moringa Luxury Body Butter for two reasons; it has squalane which my skin seems to love and the brand name. I reasearched Emma Hardie products before ordering, and it’s a well loved and respected brand.When I first applied, I did not like the smell. To me it has an acidic citrus smell, but somehow musky. I still can’t put my finger on it. However, my daughter absolutely loved it. So go figure. I was sad because it’s SO moisturizing and as predicted, my skin loved it. BUT and fortunately for me, the odor dissipates! It was barely detectable shortly after applying. I’m so happy because this has been heaven sent for my dry skin (I’m 58) . The other HUGE plus, it’s non-greasy and my skin absorbs it immediately. Have been using for several days and I will continue to use. It’s def priced high, but it’s a luxury brand. However, while writing this review there’s a 20% off coupon available. And you don’t need to use a huge dollop, thank goodness, because I hope to keep this in my skin routine from now on.I did receive this free for my honest opinion through Amazon Vine, but I just purchased a back up with my own money (using the coupon). I used this lotion where you'd normally put lotion and the results are pretty good. One day later (granted, it's not dry season) my skin isn't dry and faintly chapped/ashy as it is normally. So as far as lotion goes it works. I'm not sure what would qualify it as luxury body butter other than the luxurious packaging and hefty glass container but I guess maybe to justify the price?One thing that caught me off guard is how horrible the smell is. Smells like sporting goods store with the really strong chemical off-gassing rubbery/plastic smell... with a hint of flowers. Fortunately the smell doesn't linger that long but if smell is a huge consideration for you, this will probably be a disappointment.Will this replace something I'm already using? Maybe not unless the price for this becomes far below what I've already got. It is certainly effective but as far as being more effective enough to justify the increased cost, probably not. That said, it's worth a try, especially if you don't find the smell unpleasant. 4 stars for that.

So if you can bear the initial odor, it won't stick around to ruin your day.Moving on to the jar itself. Be prepared for a little workout, because this jar is heavy. It's like a mini-dumbbell for your hands while applying the moisturizer. If you're looking for a little extra arm exercise, this body butter might just do the trick lol

As someone who suffers from dry skin, this lotion does a great job in smoothing out my skin. I’m not a huge fan of the scent, but this has given me better results than some of other lotions I’ve used

I was surprised when I opened this - this body butter comes in beautiful, large sea green glass jar with a brushed gold lid, inside a metallic aqua colored box. The jar is about 3” tall x 3.5” wide —- much larger than I expected. The consistency and color of the cream is like mayonnaise, and it smells very good. I cannot place the scent — it may be shea butter with some sweetness. It absorbs into the skin well, but does leave a slight greasy residue on palms. I’ve been careful to rub my palms on something else — a clean area of my body or towel — to get it totally off my palms. With it’s presentation and good scent, it would make a very special gift to someone who loves to pamper herself.

This product is beautiful. From the packaging, to the glass jar it comes in, to the smell, to the texture of the lotion itself, it all screams expensive. This would make a wonderful gift. I kept it for myself and I’m glad I did. I love it so far. It smells amazing and feels even better on my skin. Use it after showering for a spa like experience at home.

I am loving this lotion so far! I say lotion even though it is a body butter, because it isn't thick enough to be a body butter in my opinion. I really enjoy the scent of it... It smells fresh and clean to me. The jar it comes in is so weighty and substantial. It's a beautiful green sea glass color and has a lovely soft gold lid. I will be using it primarily right before bed or right after a shower because it leaves a bit of a greasy residue behind on my hands which isn't a big deal because it doesn't last long before it is absorbed. I think I'll enjoy it most at night when that won't matter at all. I really do love it but only took away a star because I'm not sure it is what it says it is since it is more of the consistency of lotion.

This comes beautifully packaged in a heavy glass jar. When I opened it I was immediately put off by the smell. Its pretty bad. I would compare it to the smell of bug spray. The scent is not good at all and not something I would want to use after a shower smelling great or to compete with my perfume. Also, the consistency is that of any moisturizer. In my opinion it is not body butter. I think of body butter of being very rich and thick and luxurious. This is lotion in a nice jar. I think the price is extremely high for the product. To me it works just as good as a store brand that costs far less. I would not order again.
