Perfect results
Followed the instructions to the letter and got the exact results I was hoping for. So easy to use and while I was expecting a horrible smell, there actually wasn’t. I used it outside in the garden for my project and stored it in the shed overnight just in case. I did have to do two coats as the lacquer I was removing was particularly thick and horrible. You can see the first removal in the photos. It worked incredibly quickly and effectively though. Very easy to remove the yuck afterwards. I’d advise wearing rubber gloves though, not the porous work gloves I foolishly used. My fingers and nails are still a little stained three days later! Highly recommend none the less.

Great paint stripper.
Bought after nitromors failed to remove paint from a metal bench. This stuff is fantastic. It had the majority off quickly and easily. The pack is bigger too!

Very slow acting and not very effective
Well this is obviously a pretty weak solution stripper. I've tried it on two painted items and both have needed two good coats to make much of an impression on the paint. Even then it took many hours before there was any noticeable bubbling. I haven't used paint stripper for quite a while so possibly the strength of them all has been reduced for some reason? I think I would try a different brand if I needed it again.

!!!!! DO NOT BUY !!!!!
This has to be the worst stripper I've ever used! Just melts it into chewing gum you can not get off. It is terrible, and as you try to get it all off the deeper it goes into the woodgrain and remaining like chewing gum, does not set at all, just stays stick as anything. Completely ruined a family air loom that was going to be a surprise. If I could I'd be looking at compensation for damages. Spend the extra and buy Nitromorse. Only purchased this as it was more environmentally friendly. DONT BOTHER! If you use this you WILL have to replace what you are stripping. I will be contacting the manufacturer independently of this review as I'm totally disgusted and ridiculously angry. Absolutely garbage is being far to polite! Can not be rectified the damage it has done. Was refurbishing a 70 year old yacht for my Dad that his dad made for him as a present for christmas, as he wont see next christmas. Really just have no words.

Excellent product
Our 1927 house has a number of finials on the stair newel posts. They were painted cream and showed dirty marks where people's hands have inevitably touched them as they go up and down the stairs. I decided to strip the paint off and go back to the bare wood. I didn't know which paint stripper to buy, but I saw that the Bartoline comes in the top ten on many site recommendations. It is very easy to use, is odourless, and is very thick and non-drip so it is easy to apply. I poured some in a ceramic bowl and then painted it on with a 2" paintbrush. After an hour the paint had started to bubble and blister all over and so I scraped it off. I found that it had taken one single layer of paint off. So I reapplied and it took the next layer of paint off. I found that in all there were six layers of paint and one layer of varnish (probably the original 1920s finish) and so I needed to reapply for each layer and scrape off each time. You can't put this on an expect it to take every layer off in one go. But I did it over several days, taking off 100 years worth of paint, and eventually got down to the bare wood which I was then able to sand and varnish. I am very pleased with the end result and as the varnish is polyurethane it is very easy to wipe and keep clean. I found that the excess paint remover could stay in the ceramic bowl until the job was completed and the paintbrush remained intact and didn't fall apart with the stripper. There was enough in the bottle to apply seven times to three separate finials. Overall, I would say that if you want to do a job quickly and have all layers of paint stripped off in one application, then this isn't the product for you. But if you want to do a job carefully and slowly, removing one layer of paint at a time then this is the perfect product.
