opellaSI16570 Toilet Cistern Lever, Chrome

It's been going on for months, pouring water down the toilet with the intention of buying a new cistern. I made up my mind to buy a new one, I saw this cistern which was £60. I looked in Amazon for one a bit cheaper and saw the levers at these silly prices.That looks easy to fit, I thought and send for one at £5 something!It arrived the next day, no postage and beautifully packaged.My young granddaughter unpacked it and disappeared into the bathroom with it! Five minutes later, out she came out with the empty packet and said, "Try it, nan!"I did and it fits like a dream! This happened weeks ago, the handle fits well, secure and it is easy to use! Well done Amazon for keeping the prices so low. It could have cost me much more. J.Glynn

I bought this for cosmetic reasons - the old lever was a bit corroded and looked tatty - and it does the job. Had to trim down the plastic arm so it wouldn't foul the internal components (and, of course, the old lever internals were seized up with rust, so took ages to dismantle) but otherwise fitting was fairly straightforward.A good buy for a fair price.

Having moved in to a newly renovated flat, it bothered me that the cistern lever was both loose and grimy. I have never changed a cistern lever before and admittedly had no idea what I was doing. There are no instructions included and I was left with a small metal plate that I for the life of me can't find the use for (but hey, it works fine). That may be my own fault though - it does seem sturdy enough and should be easy to fit for anyone with slightly more experience, but easy enough for anyone. As others have commented, it does seem slightly big internally, but I was just able to fit it into the cistern without hitting anything.

Better than the B&Q option mentioned in a different review. Does the job, easy enough to install, but lose fitting.

Oh toilet cistern lever, you sit on the polished porcelain cistern so elegantly, like a swan on a lake, whilst below the waterline, (inside the cistern), you work like 3ugger to shift the water from the cistern into the loo. Without you my cistern would just be a tank of water, you make all the difference, you do the job, to remove the job, Oh thank you toilet cistern lever.Whilst you look like all the other toilet cistern levers in the list, I know you are really different, because you're my toilet cistern lever and I love you for being you. xxx Company Joker.

does exactly as it should and sturdy, easy to install

The handle ok but the internal connected rod had already warped and twisted!!!

After having problems with a lever which I bought at my local branch of B&Q, I ordered this at 7pm on a Friday evening, and the package arrived the following Tuesday morning. The internal actuating lever has a couple of different ways to be fitted, which allows for different types of cisterns, but it was easy to figure out how to do this to get the best operation, and the best angle for the chrome handle. I also needed to trim a small amount off the actuating lever, as the space in my cistern was restricted, but a junior hacksaw cut through the nylon plastic very easily. From the package hitting my doormat to completion of the job took twenty minutes flat. It couldn't have been easier.
