Handy Hands Metal Tatting Needles for Thread-Set of 3

It is almost impossible to get good tatting needles in the UK. Delivery took a little while longer but was no more than 10 days I think. The needles are nice and long which is particularly helpful if you want to do split ring tatting or Josephine knots etc. I have bought from a UK supplier but found these were about 2 inches shorter and not as easy to work with. You get four different size needles which should let you work with most thread sizes, and a good quality needle threader thrown in. I would highly recommend these.

I had read about needle tatting and seen videos on how to do it on you tube so bought this set to have a go. They are nicely made and come in a handy tube. Although it was offered as a set of 3 there were in fact 4 needles, a finer one having been included. They are just the right length an I have used each of them to find out the best thread for each size. The largest will take up to 4 ply yarn and the finest I used 80s crochet cotton. They are ideal for purpose. A longer eye would make them easier to thread but otherwise just right.

I'm new to tatting and have struggled in the past with shuttles. The needles are easy to thread and after watching an easy to follow video, was able to create a few rings and something resembling an owl! The thickest needle coped with 4ply cotton/cashmere yarn. Comes with two needle threaders.

These arrived next day which was good. I've had a few goes at tatting with a shuttle but I am so slow at it and keep dropping the shuttle. Thought I'd try the needles. They are great. It seemed much easier to form the stitches and I found making a ring very easy and fast. Haven't got beyond that yet. The needles seem great. Quite fine and slightly flexible, I like that they come in a protective tube which is ideal to keep them in.

These needle where absolutely fantastic value for money. I am a beginner of needle tatting and was unsure of which needle size to start with. This pack was ideal as it had 3 plus an extra fine one as a bonus. I also love the needle threader that came in the pack. It seems to be of a very good quality. A slightly larger eye which makes threading easier with the needle threader. I have another set by a different brand that are difficult to thread with smaller eye.

Be patient. It is well worth the wait for these needles. They come from America, so they will take a couple of weeks. They are lovely needles, plus there was an extra one. Thank you so much. I am going to watch tatting videos on you tube, where they use needles like this. Very good.
